Obama calls on Syria’s Assad to “step aside” | The Envoy - Yahoo! News
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/envoy/obama-calls-syria-assad-step-aside-141257617.html
President Barack Obama called on Syria's Bashar al-Assad to leave power Thursday, as the United States announced new sanctions on the Syrian regime, which is accused of killing some 2,000 people in six months of anti-government unrest.
"The future of Syria must be determined by its people, but President Bashar al-Assad is standing in their way," Obama said in a statement released by the White House Thursday morning. "His calls for dialogue and reform have rung hollow while he is imprisoning, torturing, and slaughtering his own people."
"For the sake of the Syrian people, the time has come for President Assad to step aside," Obama's statement continued.
"The transition to democracy in Syria has begun, and it's time for Assad to get out of the way," Secretary of State Hillary Clinton echoed in an on-camera statement at the State Department shortly after the White House announcement, which you can see in the video below.

Christian worshippers;detained; in China
http://english.aljazeera.net/news/asia-pacific/2011/04/2011410105621371604.html
The congregants sang hymns and said prayers as police loaded them onto waiting buses in Beijing's western Haidian district, the US-based Christian rights group China Aid said in a statement on Sunday, citing witnesses.
"The Beijing authorities have again demonstrated their total disregard of their citizens' constitutionally guaranteed fundamental right to religious freedom," China Aid founder and president Bob Fu said in the statement.
Shouwang church pastor Yuan Ling said by telephone that he was unable to go to the venue because police had put him under house arrest on Saturday night. Yuan said he knew of at least six other church members who were also under house arrest.
Police declined to comment when contacted by AFP news agency and requested written questions be sent to them by fax.
A church member who went to the gathering venue for services and managed to evade police told The Associated Press news agency that about 200 people were taken away and were being held at a local school.
The man, who would give only his English name, Kane, for fear of police reprisals, said their cellphones were also confiscated.
Beijing police halt unapproved church service, detain dozens of worshippers
http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/beijing_police_halt_house_church_service_detain_dozens_of_worshippers/2011/04/10/AFSVolBD_story.html?wprss=rss_worldChinese authorities have been on high alert for large public gatherings in the wake of anonymous online calls for anti-government protests modeled on demonstrations in the Middle East and North Africa.
No major protests have occurred in China following the calls, but the security crackdown they sparked has resulted in the arrest or detention of dozens of public interest lawyers, writers, intellectuals and activists.
China’s Communist government allows worship only in state-approved churches, but many Christians belong to unregistered congregations. Such “house churches” are subjected to varying degrees of harassment by authorities.
More than 60 million Christians are believed to worship in China’s independent churches, compared with about 20 million who worship in the state church, according to scholars and church activists.

WikiLeaks: Syria gave Hizbullah Scud-D missiles - Worthy News
| The US lodged a complaint against Syria for providing "advanced ballistic missiles and other weaponry" to Hizbullah, shortly after Syrian President Bashar Assad denied doing so, according to documents released by WikiLeaks on Tuesday. "We are concerned about Syria's provision of increasingly sophisticated weapons to Hizbullah," US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton wrote in a February 2010 diplomatic cable classified as "secret." RELATED: WikiLeaks releases US list of potential terror targets WikiLeaks: Iran financed Hizbullah fiber optics network Analysis: Notes from an undeclared cold war WikiLeaks reveals plans for North Korean collapse "In our meetings last week it was stated that Syria is not transferring any 'new' missiles to Lebanese Hizbullah," Clinton wrote. Assad also said that "Syria could not be Israel's policeman." In that meeting, the US expressed concern that Hizbullah had been given Fateh-110 missiles, which can reach Tel Aviv. A US government official told The New York Times last week that these missiles are highly accurate and especially threatening. "We are aware, however, of current Syrian efforts to supply Hizbullah with ballistic missiles," Clinton explained. These missiles include Scud-D missiles, based on North Korean technology. "I must stress that...we strongly caution [Syria] against such a serious escalation." |

Newsmax Poll: Gen. Petraeus Would Defeat President Obama in 2012 Race
By Jim Meyers
U.S. Army Gen. David Petraeus, the head of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan, would defeat President Barack Obama in a head-to-head race for the presidency, according to a new Newsmax/SurveyUSA poll.
Newsmax conducted the survey to find out how several well-known political and "dark-horse" celebrity figures, ranging from Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin, and Bill Gates to Warren Buffett, Donald Trump, and Glenn Beck, would fare if they ran against Obama for the White House.
The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted Nov. 3-4, after Republicans won the House and gained six seats in the Senate in the midterm elections — results widely interpreted as a rejection of
Obama and raising questions about his chances for re-election in 2012.
In the Newsmax poll, respondents were asked: “If there were an election for president of the United States today, and the only two names on the ballot were David Petraeus and Barack Obama, whom would you vote for?”
Petraeus [

], who formerly served as head of coalition forces in Iraq as well as leading the U.S. Central Command, has denied that he has any political ambitions. But observers feel he would be a strong candidate if he decided to campaign for the White House — a sentiment that the Newsmax poll results confirm.

U.S. Helps Radical Muslim Groups Get Taxpayer Dollars | Judicial Watch
People in America need to remember. WE DO NOT WORK FOR THE GOVERNMENT! The Constitution clearly states that THE GOVERNMENT WORKS FOR WE THE PEOPLE.
This below is seriously uncalled for.
http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2010/aug/u-s-helps-radical-muslim-groups-get-taxpayer-dollars
In its fervent crusade to befriend Muslims, the White House will host special workshops this week to provide members of radical Islamic groups with direct access to U.S. government funding, assistance and resources.

GOPUSA » Commentary » Malkin: Arizona vs. the U.N. Human Rights Police
Are they actually trying to create a War? This has got the be the stupidest thing I have ever seen from any United States Government. This is going to a foreign country to deal with a state in the US.
Where is that in the Constitution? This is what causes Kings and Queens to be overthrown.
http://www.gopusa.com/commentary/2010/09/arizona-vs-the-un-human-rights-police.php
Case in point: Last week, Obama's State Department handed in America's first-ever report to the United Nations Commissioner for Human Rights in conjunction with something called the "Universal Periodic Review." In short, the 29-page document is a self-aggrandizing report card touting the administration's far-left domestic and foreign policy initiatives for the world's approval. The report boasts of racial- and gender-bean-counting in the executive branch; Justice Department outreach to Muslim grievance groups opposed to post-9/11 security measures; teachers' union payoffs in the federal stimulus law; continuing commitment to closing the Gitmo detention facility for enemy combatants; and the illusory lifesaving effects of Obamacare on minorities through "expanding community health centers" (which have yet to be built, but not that it matters in our Nobel Peace Prize-winning president's age of post-achievement).
The report also includes a section on "values and immigration," which essentially singles out Arizona's immigration enforcement law as a human rights deficiency "that is being addressed in a court action."
In response, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer rightly blasted Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration for succumbing to "internationalism run amok." Brewer pointed out in a letter to Clinton, "Human rights as guaranteed by the United States and Arizona Constitutions are expressly protected in S.B. 1070 and defended vigorously by my Administration. In fact, the Department of Justice has correctly not included these so-called 'human rights' issues in the current litigation against the State of Arizona." Somehow, that inconvenient detail escaped the Foggy Bottom bureaucrats' notice.

The Bilderberg Planning Session Ends: What's Next?
-

read more on www.personalliberty.comForget global warming. It's off the table. The new push from global climate "science" is going to be global COOLING.
How do I know? It was one of the main topics at the Bilderberg 2010 conference June 4-6 in Spain. That's where the movers and shakers in government, politics, finance, industry, labor, education and communications—as the group's own website says—meet in secret for "informal and off-the-record discussion about topics of current concern especially in the fields of foreign affairs and the international economy." -
read more on www.personalliberty.comThese are the New World Order folks. This was their 58th annual meeting
In the coming months expect to hear a lot of talk in the main stream media and out of the fascists in government on the issues of social networking and cyber technology (this has already started—see Kill Switch Would Kill The Internet). A world food crisis of some kind will manifest itself. Medical science will be a hot topic—perhaps another "medical emergency" created by Big Pharma and hyped by the World Health Organization (WHO), much as the false pig flu epidemic of 2009 was. And the solution will enrich select drug companies and WHO researchers. -
read more on www.personalliberty.comThe New World Order folks were dealt a setback when the emails exposing the hoax of global warming were leaked. They thought that was their ticket to one world governance. And a few of them have publicly lamented that so many are awakening to their existence. -
read more on www.personalliberty.comBut they're not done. Cap and Trade is one of their brainchildren, and the BP spill has been like a defibrillator for that atrocity's heart. Obama is promoting open borders—while holding Arizona hostage—and the Russians and Chinese are pushing a global currency. And they know Obama is on board with the Small Arms Treaty (Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said so) that would effectively eliminate personal ownership of firearms—one of their and the United Nation's main goals. Obama's just got to find a way around that pesky Constitution (can you say Elena Kagan?)
Hold on to your hats. After all the rah-rahs, glad handing and back slapping in Spain, the globalists are once again amped up and the push for global governance is on.

Clinton: Justice Department To Sue Arizona Over Immigration Law
During a June 8 interview on an Ecuador news station, Clinton said that President Obama firmly believes that the Federal government should define immigration policies, and that the "Justice Department, under his direction, will be bringing a lawsuit against the act." Clinton—stating that they are continuing to "review" the law—Arizona Governor Jan Brewer fired back, expressing again her willingness to meet the Federal government in court. "To learn of this lawsuit through an Ecuadorean interview with the secretary of state is just outrageous," she said. "If our own government intends to sue our state to prevent illegal immigration enforcement, the least it can do is inform us before it informs the citizens of another nation." |
