Hawaii Senate Ends Daily Chamber Prayers | CNSnews.com

Anti-ACLU-2Image via WikipediaA Court System without Jesus Christ in it, makes me wonder if there is ever a reason to want to go to Hawaii anymore. What I find odd is, the it only takes one person to complain about Praying or having Under God in the Pledge of Allegiance or to take the Ten Commandments out of the Court Houses and all of sudden like magic these people do it? For so many people to claim Unconstitutional that have clearly never read it or even took a good look at the people who wrote it just makes my brain rattle.

Before you read the article below, I want to reflect on what those Commandments are.

http://www.the-ten-commandments.org/the-ten-commandments.html
The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:2-17 NKJV)
1 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.
2 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My Commandments.
3 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
4 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
5 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
6 “You shall not murder.
7 “You shall not commit adultery.
8 “You shall not steal.
9 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
10 “You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.”

Now, let me get this right. These Laws are now all of a sudden Unconstitutional?
It's OK to Murder and Steal? To Lie and Cheat?
The foundational laws of this land is from the Bible. Yet so many listen to one person and remove these.
Now they want to leave Jesus Christ out of the Courts and remove Prayer.
My God! How stupid has this Country become? Hawaii being the first. You know they will try to spread the disease as always.

Honolulu (AP) - Fearing a possible court challenge, Hawaii's state Senate has voted to silence the daily prayer offered before each session began - making it the first state legislative body in the nation to halt the practice.
A citizen's complaint had prompted the American Civil Liberties Union last summer to send the Senate a letter noting that its invocations often referenced Jesus Christ, contravening the separation of church and state.
That prompted the state attorney general's office to advise the Senate that their handling of prayers - by inviting speakers from various religions to preach before every session - wouldn't survive a likely court challenge, said Democratic Majority Leader Brickwood Galuteria.
"Above all, our responsibility is to adhere to the Constitution," Galuteria said after Thursday's vote to halt the daily blessings.
A three-member Senate committee formed to evaluate the issue recommended allowing nonsectarian, nonpolitical invocations that avoided references to deities, but the legislative body decided to do away with prayers altogether rather than constrain them.
"They (the ACLU) continue to threaten governments with lawsuits to try to force them into capitulating to their view of society," said Brett Harvey, an attorney for the Alliance Defense Fund, made up of Christian lawyers to defend free faith speech. "Governments should take a stand for this cherished historical practice."

Texas ready for textbook showdown

Maybe it's time to move to Texas.

AUSTIN, Texas - Is Texas on the verge of rewriting history, or just correcting it?

Among the recommendations facing a final vote: adding language saying the country's Founding Fathers were guided by Christian principles and including positive references to the Moral Majority, the National Rifle Association and the GOP’s Contract with America.

Other amendments to the state's curriculum standards for kindergarten through 12th grade would minimize Thomas Jefferson's role in world and U.S. history because he advocated the separation of church and state; require that students learn about "the unintended consequences" of affirmative action; assert that "the right to keep and bear arms" is an important element of a democratic society; and rename the slave trade to the "Atlantic triangular trade.”

Dunbar, who home-schools her children and says sending them to local schools would be like “throwing them in the enemy’s flames,”
In Texas we have certain statutory obligations to promote patriotism

Obama admin. to appeal prayer ruling

From NBC's Pete Williams
The Justice Department says it intends to appeal a federal court ruling that found the National Day of Prayer to be a violation of the separation between church and state.

The ruling came in a lawsuit filed against President Obama and White House spokesman Robert Gibbs. One week ago, a federal judge in Wisconsin ruled that the president's declaration of a national day for prayer was unconstitutional.

The government today informed the court that it will appeal the decision.

Since 1952, when Congress required the president to issue a proclamation designating a national day of prayer, all presidents have done so. Beginning in 1988, the day has been the first Thursday in May, because Congress amended the original law to declare it the day for the event.

that "does not mean that the government may enact a statute in support of it, any more than the government may encourage citizens

Court OKs Pledge of Allegiance, use of 'God' on money as constitutional

Noormah Zubair touches her heart as she recites the Pledge of Allegiance along with other 3rd graders at Herndon Elementary School in 2004.
By Tim Loehrke, USA Today
A federal appeals court has upheld references to God on U.S. currency and in the Pledge of Allegiance, rejecting arguments that they violate the constitutional separation of church and state, the Associated Press reports.

The ruling was a reversal of the same court's controversial decision in 2002 that the pledge violated the First Amendment ban on government endorsement of religion.

"The Pledge of Allegiance serves to unite our vast nation through the proud recitation of some of the ideals upon which our Republic was founded,"

In a separate 3-0 decision, the appeals court upheld the use of the phrase "In God We Trust" on U.S. coins and currency, citing the court's  earlier  ruling that the phrase is ceremonial and patriotic and "has nothing whatsoever to do with the establishment of religion."

Christian Organizations Beware - Government Money Means No Preaching Allowed

The Salvation Army and the New York Civil Liberties Union have reached a settlement in a longstanding suit that sought to prevent the evangelical organization from violating church-state separation when providing social services.

This agreement protects the religious freedom of all New Yorkers who rely on faith-based organizations for crucial government-funded social services

"Our taxpayer money shouldn’t support religious indoctrination of anyone – particularly children. And no one should be subject to proselytizing because they need foster care, adoption, child care or HIV services," she added. "This settlement ensures that religious organizations may not preach to people who receive government-funded social services or discriminate against them based on their religious beliefs."

The goal was that "there should be one Salvation army with a single Mission Statement, driven by the vision of one leader."

Christian speech targeted as 'hate'

The Constitution in PerilImage by Renegade98 via Flickr

clipped from www.wnd.com

The conflict was sparked by competing flyers distributed recently to public school students, one from PFOX and the other from the homosexual-rights group PFLAG, or Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays.

It said, "No one should be labeled based on the perception of  others. Get smart! Explore the origins of your same-sex attraction. ... The decision of a prom date, a car, or whether to super-size those fries can be based on a feeling, but important decisions should not be made on feelings alone."

"You say we are not being 'tolerant' of ex-gays ... and PFOX says it is not anti-gay … yet you people seem to HATE anything and everything that has to do with the way God wanted gay people," the note continued. "Separation of church and state … read the U.S. Constitution."

Free speech does not mean that groups such as PFOX should be permitted to distribute incorrect and demeaning information like this to high school students.

Task force to decide if comments = hate crimes

Grandmother Who Objected To Gay March Is Accus...Image by Laurie Pink via Flickr

clipped from www.onenewsnow.com

Mayor Rex Parris said at the end of a recent State of the City address that "we are growing a Christian community and we should never shy away from that." Councilwoman Sherry Marquez posted a comment on Facebook expressing outrage over an honor killing in a Muslim family, but after giving it a second though, she removed the comment an hour and a half later. Now, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has filed a federal civil rights complaint against the mayor, alleging he violated the supposed "separation of church and state." Late last month, CAIR asked the California Republican Party to repudiate Marquez' remarks, labeling them as "hate-filled" as well as "stereotypical and offensive."

"The task force has the ability to deem an incident under its jurisdiction a hate crime or a hate incident based on evidence that has been presented to the task force in due diligence of the process," he explains.
