Thousands Gather in D.C. for Beck's

Aerial view of the National Mall in Washington...Image via Wikipediahttp://abcnews.go.com/Politics/thousands-gather-dc-becks-restoring-honor-rally/story?id=11504433
As Tea Party activists and other conservatives began converging on Washington, D.C. this morning for Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally, the war of words between liberals and conservatives continued to broil.

Americans For Prosperity tell ABC News why they are going to Glenn Beck rally.Today at the National Mall, the rally has attracted more than 100,000 people gathered to see speeches by both Beck and Sarah Palin. Security was beefed up amid concerns of a clash because Beck's rally coincides with the 47th anniversary of Martin Luther King's speech, to be commemorated by various marches and rallies on the capitol."Something that is beyond man is happening," Beck told his supporters as the rally opened. "America today begins to turn back to God. For too long, this country has wandered in darkness."Beck has shunned criticism from some civil rights leaders that holding his rally on this historic day tarnishes King's legacy.

Charges Against 'New Black Panthers' Dropped by Obama Justice Dept. And Hitlers deception

I can't stand racism of any kind. We all live in America and we should be treating each other as Americans.
As we see History repeating itself, yet again, I see so many things wrong with this. Not just from one side or the other. But, anyone who tends to focus on just one race is no better than Hitler himself.
Stuff like this has been going of for a very long time. Everybody wants POWER.
Even though I don't get it. I'm sure they don't realize that they are playing right into the hands of a One World Government otherwise known as New World Order.
See if they can play each race against each other just as this is. Then they can create a path for an inner war that kills millions and didn't even have to raise a finger to do it.
Anyone playing into any Racial movement, your not fighting against THE MAN. You are doing exactly what they want you to do.
You enemy isn't a race. It's those with the money telling you how to live.
You would think people would get this by now.
We need to Wake up, join together and become Americans again. I'm so sick of hearing about RACE.

Charges brought against three members of the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense under the Bush administration have been dropped by the Obama Justice Department, FOX News has learned.
The charges stemmed from an incident at a Philadelphia polling place on Election Day 2008 when three members of the party were accused of trying to threaten voters and block poll and campaign workers by the threat of force -- one even brandishing what prosecutors call a deadly weapon.

Exclusive Full Interview: New Black Panther Party Chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz

A former Department of Justice lawyer says thatBarack Obama's DOJ dropped voter intimidation charges against 3 of 4 New Black Panther Party defendants because they don't care about the civil rights of white people. The DOJ says the charges were unsupported by the facts and the law. Fox News makes it a huge story. In a gripping exclusive interview, New Black Panther Chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz gives his side of the story, and answers charges that he heads an anti-Semitic, anti-white hate group.
First, some background. The New Black Panthers are not affiliated with the original Black Panther Party in any way. In fact, leaders of the original Panthers have denounced the NBPP, even suing them for use of the name, and stating that the New Black Panthers operate on "hatred of white people." The NBPP has been designated a "hate group" by the Southern Poverty Law Center, and the Anti-Defamation League.

New Black Panther Chief Malik Shabazz Explains The 'Kill White Babies' Comment"

As Steve Krakauernotes, this week is the New Black Panthers' regularly scheduled moment in the sun. The organization has been trotted out by the right several times, always with a seemingly common objective: to create a creeping Black Menace, andconflate it with Barack Obama's America.
Bill O'Reilly and Andrew Breitbart have been promoting a very disturbing clip of King Samir Shabazz, the man charged with wielding a nightstick at a Philadelphia polling place, advocating the killing of white babies. In part 2 of my interview with NBPP Chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz, he gives a nearly-as-disturbing explanation, while also correcting the record.
Both Breitbart and O'Reilly erroneously state thatcharges against King Samir Shabazz were dropped. In fact, the Justice Department dropped charges against the New Black Panther Party, its Chairman, and poll watcher Jerry Jackson, but gainedan injunction against King Samir.

Napolitano: Internet Monitoring Needed to Fight Homegrown Terrorism

  • read more on www.foxnews.com
WASHINGTON -- Fighting homegrown terrorism by monitoring Internet communications is a civil liberties trade-off the U.S. government must make to beef up national security, the nation's homeland security chief said Friday.
As terrorists increasingly recruit U.S. citizens, the government needs to constantly balance Americans' civil rights and privacy with the need to keep people safe, said Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

  • read more on www.foxnews.com
Napolitano said it is wrong to believe that if security is embraced, liberty is sacrificed.
She added, "We can significantly advance security without having a deleterious impact on individual rights in most instances. At the same time, there are situations where trade-offs are inevitable."
As an example, she noted the struggle to use full-body scanners at airports caused worries that they would invade people's privacy.

Pentagon revives Rumsfeld-era domestic spying unit

The Pentagon's spy unit has quietly begun to rebuild a database for tracking potential terrorist threats that was shut down after it emerged that it had been collecting information on American anti-war activists.
The Defense Intelligence Agency filed notice this week that it plans to create a new section called Foreign Intelligence and Counterintelligence Operation Records, whose purpose will be to "document intelligence, counterintelligence, counterterrorism and counternarcotic operations relating to the protection of national security."
But while the unit's name refers to "foreign intelligence," civil liberties advocates and the Pentagon's own description of the program suggest that Americans will likely be included in the new database.

Middle Class--Not the Rich or the Poor--Pay Majority of Federal Taxes, Says CBO Data
    Monday, June 21, 2010
    By Terence P. Jeffrey, Editor-in-Chief
(CNSNews.com) - Middle-class Americans--not the rich or the poor--pay the majority of annual tax revenues taken in by the federal government, according to data released in a new Congressional Budget Office study. Households earning less than $34,300 per year, meanwhile, actually pay a negative average federal income tax rate.
Middle-class households that earned between $34,300 and  $141,900 paid 50.5 percent of all federal tax revenues in 2007 (the most recent year analyzed), according to the CBO study released Thursday, and households that earned between $34,300 and $352,900 paid 66.7 percent of all federal taxes.
Households in the top 1 percent for annual income (those earning more than $352,900) paid a healthy 28.1 percent of all federal taxes, but households in the lower income brackets paid relatively little. Those earning less than $34,300 paid only 5.2 percent of all federal taxes, and those earning less than $20,500 carried almost none of the federal tax burden (just 0.8 percent of the total) in 2007.

Obama: Ariz. immigration measure 'misguided'

clipped from www.google.com

PHOENIX — President Barack Obama called an Arizona immigration bill "misguided" Friday and said it could violate people's civil rights, intensifying pressure on the state's Republican governor to veto the nation's toughest legislation against illegal immigration.

Obama said he's instructed the Justice Department to examine the Arizona bill to see if it's legal, and said the federal government must enact immigration reform at the national level — or leave the door open to "irresponsibility by others."

She's under intense pressure from anti-illegal immigration groups and lawmakers in her own party to sign the bill, but has given no indication what she will do.

Civil rights activists have said the bill would lead to racial profiling and deter Hispanics from reporting crimes. Hundreds of Hispanics protested the legislation at the State Capitol complex on Thursday.

The bill would take effect 90 days after the current legislative session ends if it becomes law.

Police push for warrantless searches of cell phones

Sprint NextelImage via Wikipedia

clipped from news.cnet.com

When Christian Taylor stopped by the Sprint store in Daly City, Calif., last November, he was planning to buy around 30 BlackBerry handhelds.

But a Sprint employee on the lookout for fraud grew suspicious about the address and other details relating to Taylor's company, "Hype Univercity," and called the police.

Sex photos drew federal lawsuit
Concerns about privacy are not merely hypothetical. In March 2008, Nathan Newhard was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in Culpeper, Va., and his cell phone was seized. In the pictures folder of the cell phone were multiple pictures of Newhard and his then-girlfriend, Jessie Casella, nude in sexually compromising positions.

Newhard and Casella--at that point no longer a couple--filed separate civil rights lawsuits against Sgt. Matt Borders, who they said alerted the rest of the police department on the radio "that the private pictures were available for their viewing and enjoyment."

Task force to decide if comments = hate crimes

Grandmother Who Objected To Gay March Is Accus...Image by Laurie Pink via Flickr

clipped from www.onenewsnow.com

Mayor Rex Parris said at the end of a recent State of the City address that "we are growing a Christian community and we should never shy away from that." Councilwoman Sherry Marquez posted a comment on Facebook expressing outrage over an honor killing in a Muslim family, but after giving it a second though, she removed the comment an hour and a half later. Now, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has filed a federal civil rights complaint against the mayor, alleging he violated the supposed "separation of church and state." Late last month, CAIR asked the California Republican Party to repudiate Marquez' remarks, labeling them as "hate-filled" as well as "stereotypical and offensive."

"The task force has the ability to deem an incident under its jurisdiction a hate crime or a hate incident based on evidence that has been presented to the task force in due diligence of the process," he explains.

WORLD NET DAILY — Obama ‘hate crimes’ in lawsuit bull’s-eye

clipped from www.afamichigan.org
“A team of Christian activists and pastors today filed a civil rights lawsuit against Attorney General Eric Holder over the ‘hate crimes’ law that President Obama…signed into law late in 2009 – alleging it violates their civil rights. The complaint states Christians now can become the target of federal investigations, grand juries and even charges for no more than opposing the activism of homosexuals who want…to halt any criticism of (their life choices). …It was filed today by the Thomas More Law Center…on behalf of Pastors Levon Yuille, Rene Ouellette, James Combs and Gary Glenn, who is the president of the American Family Association of Michigan.

The complaint states Christians now can become the target of federal investigations, grand juries and even charges for no more than opposing the activism of homosexuals who want not only public endorsement of their life choices, but to halt any criticism of those decisions.

Obama speaks from pulpit, noting progress and difficulty in America, Not once Mentions Jesus Christ.

the 44th President of the United States...Bara...Image by jmtimages via Flickr

  • Turning the pulpit into a political agenda in a Church. Not once mentions Jesus Christ.

"Reporting from Washington - President Obama, speaking today from the pulpit of a church where the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. sometimes spoke, called on the congregation to rally around the spirit that had helped their ancestors pursue a long road to freedom. "It's that progress that allowed me to be here today," said Obama, the first African American president. The president, who doesn't frequently attend Sunday church services in Washington and has not found a permanent congregation for his family in the capital, joined in the services this morning at the Vermont Avenue Baptist Church. The president arrived with First Lady Michelle Obama and daughters Malia and Sasha. The church, founded in 1866 by seven freed slaves, originally was known as the Fifth Baptist Church of Washington, D.C. "It feels like a family," Obama told the congregation. There are at least a couple of occasions that might have prompted today's outing: the deaths of tens of thousands of Haitians in an earthquake that has shaken all of the Americas, as well as the birthday of the slain civil rights leader King, which is celebrated on Monday with a national holiday. "We gather here on the Sabbath at a time of extreme difficulty for our nation and the world," the president said, speaking much like a preacher from the pulpit. "We are not here just to ask the Lord for his blessing. We're also here to call on the memory of one of his servants, the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr." Obama said he had come to a "a church founded by freed slaves . . . whose congregants set out for marches . . . from whose sanctuary King himself would sermonize from time to time." This was as much of a sermon as it was a speech. King "trusted God," the president said. "He had faith that God would make a way out of now way. . . . "Folks ask me sometimes, 'Why do you look so calm?' " Obama said on a particularly personal note, with his voice rising."
