EPA Finds Radiation In Milk Above Maximum and Drinking Water in 13 US Cities

Truthfully I've been a bit hesitant to post this stuff. Maybe because I just don't want to believe it? Maybe I just don't want people to worry? I'm not sure. But, after looking through a lot of the info here and on a few other sites. Maybe it's time to really start pay more attention to this.
The fact is. Radiation is in fact spread from Japan. I'm not talking just the United States. But all over the place. As it continues to spread the levels are becoming much higher. Now I'm not sure if it's causing people to get sick yet or not. I will post a couple of videos here one showing the levels in the rain itself. Be sure to go through the links here yourself. Don't take my word for it.
This guy is doing a great job keeping up with it all. I will post more myself as I get more information on this.

The EPA has finally released some of the radiation data it has been collecting:
  • Little Rock milk radiation – 3 times the EPA Maximum
  • Radiation in Philly Drinking Water 73% of federal drinking water standards.
  • Los Angeles milk radiation was above federal drinking water standards.
  • Radiation found in Phoenix milk was almost at the federal drinking water standard.
  • Radioactive Iodine in Boise Idaho rainwater was 130 times above Federal Drinking Water standards.
    • Radioactive Caesium was 13.66 times above federal limit for Caesium-134, 2 year half-life.
    • Radioactive Caesium was 12 times federal limit for Caesium-137, 30 year half-life.
  • Tennessee drinking water was detected with radiation slightly above 1/2 the federal maximum.
  • Radioactive Iodine has been detected in the drinking water across the entire US in the following states: California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Tennessee, Montana, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, New Jersey, and Alabama, as well as in Canada.
  • Cesium and Tellurium were found in Boise,  Las Vegas,  Nome and Dutch Harbor, Honolulu, Kauai and Oahu, Anaheim, Riverside, San Francisco, and San Bernardino,  Jacksonville and Orlando, Salt Lake City,  Guam, and Saipan.
  • Uranium-234, with a half-life of 245,500 years has been found in Hawaii, California, and Washington.

Balloon stunt raises anger in San Francisco - Video Games

E3 2010 giant Homefront bannerImage by popculturegeek.com via FlickrThis article really goes to show the stupity of evironmentalists. It's stories like this that really makes me wonder. Why in the World are these people over here complaining about balloons instead of being over there in Iran or Egypt or Lybia or even China or Mexico complaining about the evironment? I mean Balloons?

Better yet, Being that they count themselves to be so accountable to the environment and this New game Homefront really ticks them off. Why not go to North Korea and complain about it there?

It's a video game people get over it! Plus the story line of it really isn't that far fetched if anyone with even a half a brain actually and knew anything about what is going on in the World today.

If balloons are such a crime now days in America. What difference would it make for a country like North Korea or any other for that matter to take over and tell us all what to do. At this point I don't think Environmentalist are any better than most of the Marxiist Dictators out there.
I mean Balloons. Really?
See the full story here.
http://blog.games.yahoo.com/blog/445-balloon-stunt-raises-anger-in-san-francisco
A publicity stunt intended to advertise upcoming shooter Homefront ended up backfiring this week when 10,000 red balloons, released by publisher THQ into the San Francisco skies, wound up in the waters of the Bay itself, angering local environmentalists.
Scheduled for release on March 15, Homefront takes place in 2027, and sees a belligerent and heavily armed North Korean army invades the mainland of the United States. The balloons were released in a mock protest against the game's fictional North Korean regime, and coincided with this week's Game Developers Conference taking place in downtown San Francisco.
"The balloons that were released are completely biodegradable," she told Cnet. "They start the process of biodegrading as soon as they're blown up with the helium. There should not be any environmental concerns." Regardless, the publisher has hired a clean-up crew to deal with the mess.

Former Oil Exec Predicts $5-a-Gallon Gas by 2012, Energy Shortages by Decade's End - FoxNews.com

Revelation 6
5When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quarta of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/12/27/oil-exec-predicts-gallon-gas-energy-shortages-decades-end
The former president of Shell oil is predicting that the United States will face 1970s-style energy shortages and rationing by the end of the decade, accusing the federal government of turning its back on the country's domestic oil supply.
The dire prediction comes as energy analysts toss out a string of frightening predictions about the rising price of oil in the short term. Oil has topped $90 a barrel, and JP Morgan Chase & Co. earlier this month predicted oil could hit $120 a barrel by the end of 2012. At the same time, the national average gasoline price is about $3 a gallon for the holiday season
But former Shell executive John Hofmeister offered a more aggressive estimate, saying Americans could be paying $5 a gallon in two years. And he predicted that sometime between 2018 and 2020, supply and demand will become so out of balance that gas stations in several regions of the country will simply start to run out.

Your smart phone is watching you

Fact is. They are really great tracking devices and The mics can pick up everything. The only way to stop it is to pull the battery out. At least for now.

Australian security experts, consumer advocates and privacy campaigners have sounded the alarm over the hundreds of thousands of free smartphone applications that spy on their users.
Lookout, a smartphone security firm based in San Francisco, scanned nearly 300,000 free applications for Apple's iPhone and phones built around Google's Android software. It found that many of them secretly pull sensitive data off users' phones and ship them off to third parties without notification.
The data can include full details about users' contacts, their pictures, text messages and internet and search histories. The third parties can include advertisers and companies that analyse data on users.
The information is used by companies to target ads and learn more about their users. The danger, though, is that the data can become vulnerable to hacking and used in identity theft if the third party isn't careful about securing the information.

Earthquake Moved California City 31 Inches

San Andreas Fault in California.Image via Wikipedia

The powerful earthquake that struck Baja California and the southwestern United States in April actually moved an entire California border city, NASA radar images show.
Calexico, Calif., near the U.S.-Mexico border, moved as much as 2 1/2 feet (80 cm) south and down into the ground due to the magnitude-7.2 earthquake on April 4.
Called the El Mayor-Cucapah earthquake, the temblor was centered 32 miles (52 km) south-southeast of Calexico and was the strongest quake to strike the region in nearly 120 years. Two people were killed and hundreds more were injured.
    Shaking and moving
It's not the first time a town has moved. The massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Chile earlier this year moved the city of Concepción at least 10 feet (3 meters) to the west. That quake was the fifth most powerful temblor in recorded history.

Q: Will California eventually fall off into the ocean?

A: No. The San Andreas Fault System, which crosses California from the Salton Sea in the south to Cape Mendocino in the north, is the boundary between the Pacific Plate and North American Plate. The Pacific Plate is moving northwest with respect to the North American Plate at approximately 46 millimeters per year (the rate your fingernails grow). The strike-slip earthquakes on the San Andreas Fault are a result of this plate motion. The plates are moving horizontally past one another, so California is not going to fall into the ocean. However, Los Angeles and San Francisco will one day be adjacent to one another!

    Earthquakes, Megaquakes, and the Movies

  • California Island won't be popping up on any maps. Much of California does lie along the San Andreas Fault, an 800-mile fracture in the Earth's crust stretching from the Gulf of California to San Francisco. Here two immense plates of rock, floating on a semi-molten layer, meet and move against each other in what's called a strike-slip fault. The stress caused by this movement can result in devastating earthquakes, like the 1906 quake that destroyed much of San Francisco.

  • But the motion between these two rock masses beneath the Golden State is mostly horizontal. That is, the Pacific plate is moving "up" the coast, not away from the North American plate, at a rate of dozens of millimeters per year.

San Francisco moves towards cashless society

A Golden Gate Transit regional transfer from a...Image via Wikipedia
clipped from www.squidcard.com

San Francisco has moved towards becoming a cashless society following the announcement that paper travel tickets will be phased out from the summer.

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has confirmed that paper tickets will no longer be available from November 1st.

Commuters will be able to use the city's contactless smart travel card, known as the Clipper card, to make cashless payments across the transport network.

The multi-functional card can be used on the Municipal Railway, the ferry, Golden Gate Transit, Caltrain and Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART).

Spokesman Murray Bond confirmed that some paper passes will be available beyond the November deadline for young, elderly and disabled passengers.

He said: "I think it will take the rest of this year or more to get all those folks transitioned. But at some point in time, that will cease to exist too."
Passengers will still be able to purchase paper tickets online until June 22nd.

Free speech versus kids and violent video games

clipped from news.yahoo.com

WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court will decide whether free speech rights are more important than helping parents keep violent material away from children.

The justices agreed Monday to consider reinstating California's ban on the sale or rental of violent video games to minors, a law the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco threw out last year on grounds that it violated minors' constitutional rights.

5

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who signed the law in 2005, said he was pleased the high court would review the appeals court decision. He said, "We have a responsibility to our kids and our communities to protect against the effects of games that depict ultra-violent actions, just as we already do with movies."

However, the judge who wrote the decision overturning the law said at the time that there was no research showing a connection between violent video games and psychological harm to young people.

Court splits sharply on campus Christian argument

clipped from www.foxnews.com

WASHINGTON (AP) — Supreme Court justices on Monday seemed to split sharply on whether a law school can deny recognition to a Christian student group because it won't let gays join, a case that could determine whether college nondiscrimination policies trump the rights of private organizations to determine who can — and cannot — belong to their ranks.

In arguments tinged with questions of religious, racial and sexual discrimination, the court heard from the Christian Legal Society, which wants recognition from the University of California's Hastings College of the Law as an official campus organization with school financing and benefits.

Hastings, located in San Francisco, turned them down, saying no recognized campus groups may exclude people due to religious belief or sexual orientation.

"CLS has all of its activities entirely open to everyone," lawyer Michael McConnell said. "What it objects to is being run by non-Christians."

Pelosi says GOP has hijacked 'tea party' movement

clipped from apnews.myway.com

WASHINGTON (AP) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is questioning whether the conservative "tea party" coalition truly represents a grass-roots movement.

In a broadcast interview, Pelosi calls tea party voters the "astroturf" movement. She says many of those voters have good intentions but that the Republican Party has hijacked the movement for its gain.

The San Francisco Democrat says the tea party coalition shares some common ground with Democrats, such as their dislike of special interests in Washington. She cited public disdain for the recent Supreme Court ruling on campaign finance that allows companies and unions to spend freely on ads that promote or target particular candidates by name.

Pelosi spoke in an interview with ABC's "This Week" that was airing Sunday.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.
