Escalation in Arizona: Citizen's Firearms confiscated

Back on Jul 10 2011 Quartzsite began what is being called Marshal Law being declared in Arizona State. It seems the more this issue is being discussed somehow all this is Going completely against the very Constitution Of the United States and Bill of Rights this great country has had for the very Freedom that protects us all. Not only being punished for Freedom of Speech but the Right to Bear Arms?

Residents of the Arizona town that has become a YouTube sensation after police forcibly removed a woman speaking at a recent public meeting are now experiencing firearms confiscation by the government.
The stunning action is taking place in Quartzsite, Ariz., where Town Councilman Joe Winslow has prompted the seizure of guns from local gem dealer and online entrepreneur Michael Roth because Roth allegedly glared at the councilman, blocked his entrance to Town Hall and called him a "turd."
Karen Slaughter, the elected justice of the peace for the region, issued a harassment injunction against Roth on behalf of Winslow, the lawmaker who called for the silencing of pet groomer and publisher Jennifer Jones in the infamous video.
That original video of the June 28 town-hall fiasco posted on YouTube has been viewed more than 120,000 times.
"I don't know the source of his animus towards me and at this point I don't care," Winslow said of Roth at a July 19 hearing.
                     

"I don't like firearms," he said. "I have nothing against anyone who wants to own a gun for protection, hunting, recreation, whatever, that's their business. But you bring the two things together the fixed-minded people who for whatever reason are aggressive and confrontational by nature and bring in firearms and it's a bad combination. As far as name-calling goes, that's sophomoric. I just ignore it."
Ironically, despite Winslow's self-expressed aversion to firearms and desire to confiscate Roth's weapons, the councilman admitted he had recently gone gun shopping for himself.
"I felt it necessary for me to go out and purchase a gun, and I did," Winslow said. "I went out and bought a 12-gauge shotgun. I don't like it. I don't like being in that position."
Judge Slaughter granted Winslow's request for the injunction, saying, "I will go ahead an issue the order. However, on the portion for [Roth] to stay away from the town council or the from the Town Hall, I don't think I can give a blanket order to do that. What it's going to say is that if he has to have specific personal business at the town, then he'll have to call and make an appointment. ... He can make an appointment if he wants to talk about his water bill or whatever the case may be, then that way you can leave or whatever so that you don't have to have a confrontation with him."

Her official order bans Roth from attending public meetings at Town Hall, precludes him from possessing or purchasing firearms and ammunition, and orders him to surrender his firearms to law enforcement.
"I am stunned this can happen in America! What's going on here?" Roth exclaimed. "I had a heads-up that the corrupt chief of police was going to try and disarm me. I didn't know how this was possible since I didn't break any laws that would've allowed him to do this."
Roth, 46, is outraged at the mandate, telling WND his constitutional rights are being "completely" violated.
"Town Hall is where anyone in America can air their grievances to the public and to the politicians. Now I am ordered to stay away, effectively stopping me from warning others about the police state we live in," he said. "And in these times of rising crime, I can't even defend myself or my family because a crooked councilman and a misguided judge are worried about what the councilman might do to me because of his self-confessed mental instabilities. It's complete insanity!"
Justice Slaughter refused further comment about her ruling, as her assistant indicated the judge did not wish to be interviewed, even by email.
WND asked Roth about the allegations Winslow made in the hearing, and he responded:
"When a sheriff's deputy came to my door asking for my guns the day after I was served, I didn't think I had any. However, after he was gone I remembered that I had one rifle that I bought at a yard sale and completely forgot about it, so I called up the sheriff's office and told them I would comply with the court order and to come and get my rifle, even though I think it's unconstitutional what Judge Slaughter did."
Roth noted the judge "is a former sheriff's deputy and does not have formal legal training. She is the justice of the peace because she won an election. She's there because she won the popularity contest."

A video of the July 19 hearing in front of Judge Slaughter has been created from the audio of the proceeding and has been posted on YouTube.
As WND reported last week, the state of Arizona indicated it was investigating allegations of massive corruption among government officials in Quartzsite, and where the mayor said he's not being paid and most local police officers were in the process of being fired and were ordered not to leave their homes.
Mayor Ed Foster, who's been at war with his own council and Police Chief Jeff Gilbert whom he has called corrupt and "a Nazi," believes potentially millions of dollars of taxpayer money is being illegally funneled through secret checks to unnamed councilmembers.

A Facebook support page for Mayor Foster has been inundated with viewership and messages of solidarity.

Attorney General Horne Finds Reasonable Cause to Believe Open Meeting Law Has Been Violated in Quartzsite
PHOENIX (Friday, July 29, 2011) – Tom Horne, Arizona Attorney General, today released partial information regarding the Attorney General’s Office investigation of events in Quartzsite. Horne stated:
“Normally, we do not release the results of an investigation until it has been completed. However, because this is a matter of unusual public interest, we are prepared to say that, based on review of a video of a July 10 meeting, there is reasonable cause to believe that there has been a violation of the Open Meeting Law, inasmuch as the public was excluded. The meeting was held under the misconception that an emergency meeting can be conducted without the public present. Independently of the question of whether the Town Council had a legitimate reason to hold an emergency meeting, even proper emergency meetings must allow the public to be present. The exception is if there is a legitimate basis for an executive session, and the City Council did not attempt to hold a proper executive session during the emergency meeting. The investigation of this and other alleged violations of Open Meeting Laws is ongoing.”

The first global cyber war has begun, claim hackers

Get ready folks. This is not just a warning but also shows us this will be the very reason they decide to take away a very own internet among the Freedom of Speech we all have today.

If these hackers do exist, I would like to say one thing. Thanks for messing up our only choice of Freedom of speech that we have left.

He is one of the newest recruits to Operation Payback. In a London bedroom, the 24-year-old computer hacker is preparing his weaponry for this week's battles in an evolving cyberwar. He is a self-styled defender of free speech, his weapon a laptop and his enemy the US corporations responsible for attacking the website WikiLeaks.
He had seen the flyers that began springing up on the web in mid-September. In chatrooms, on discussion boards and inboxes from Manchester to New York to Sydney the grinning face of a Guy Fawkes mask had appeared with a call to arms. Across the world a battalion of hackers was being summoned.
"Greetings, fellow anons," it said beneath the headline Operation Payback. Alongside were a series of software programs dubbed "our weapons of choice" and a stark message: people needed to show their "hatred".
Like most international conflicts, last week's internet war began over a relatively modest squabble, escalating in days into a global fight.
Before WikiLeaks, Operation Payback's initial target was America's recording industry, chosen for its prosecutions of music file downloaders. From those humble origins, Payback's anti-censorship, anti-copyright, freedom of speech manifesto would go viral, last week pitting an amorphous army of online hackers against the US government and some of the biggest corporations in the world.
Charles Dodd, a consultant to US government agencies on internet security, said: "[The hackers] attack from the shadows and they have no fear of retaliation. There are no rules of engagement in this kind of emerging warfare."

Legislation and the politically–motivated prosecution of individuals for “religious hatred” is merely the reintroduction of ancient blasphemy laws which threaten freedom of speech, a new publication by independent think tank Civitas has warned.

In a book titled A New Inquisition: Religious Persecution in Britain Today, Jon Gower Davies, formerly the Head of Religious Studies at Newcastle University, reveals the “bizarre and oppressive nature of judicial attempts to prosecute individuals for religious hatred” and of how this “new legal concept has resulted in some singularly worrying court cases,” a Civitas press release said.

“Hate legislation removes an increasing quantity of matters traditionally dealt with in civil society to the domain of the state and the courts,” Civitas continued, adding that this was merely the old Blasphemy Law “by the backdoor.”

Civitas pointed out that the Blasphemy Law was abolished in 2008, but has re-emerged in a new and radically augmented guise.

“Today, individuals are not charged with blasphemy, but with causing 'religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress' under the Public Order Act.

“Jon Davies argues that the growth in accusations of 'hate crime' threatens freedom of speech because they destroy the possibility and practice of open, sociable and critical discussion of religion.

CNN Hosts Channel Chavez: Advocates Regulating Bloggers

When I first saw this video. I actually could not believe what I was hearing. He is mentioning Iran, and Venezuela, like they need to have free internet, But America needs to be Regulated? WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?
First and foremost I can see why CNN is loosing so many viewer today. Its because they keep on and keep on talking Smack like this Video.
Second. In order for people to know the truth it must be allowed to be told. If anyone actually thinks that CNN is the only source of true news. You may really want to dig more into the stories they cover.

See people today have had enough of seeing what happens to the latest star, what they got in trouble for. Its a side tracker story to keep more people side tracked from the truth.

Bloggers in many ways may or may not have right information in many cases. They should be supplying links to everything they are posting on. The more links to look it all up for yourself the better. Otherwise it's just another story.
Hmm? Let's see. Does CNN do this. Naaaah only to their own news articles. Who cares what others have to say about it right? Wrong.

Most good Bloggers out there are out there digging into the truth showing when and where they got this information. Talking about what they feel about it. Government, Politics, important bills and regulations passing that nobody seems to have a clue about cause most Media coverage seems to skip that part or play a 10 second video and them moves on to how Linsey Lohan cried in court.

Pakistan Blocks YouTube, 450 Web Links in Crackdown

At a House Administration Committee hearing last Tuesday, Patton Boggs attorney William McGinley explained that the sloppy statutory language in the “DISCLOSE Act” would extend the FEC’s control over broadcast communications to all “covered communications,” including the blogosphere. 2nd Friday Night Out Mesa, AZ. No Christians Allowed!

I got an interesting Message from some musician friends of mine last night. They seemed to be a bit shocked at a call from 2nd Friday Night Out in Mesa Arizona from a gig they had lined up awhile back and turning down another in order to go play at the 2nd Friday Night Out. Being so happy about it they were excited to be a part of it. Anyone who is a part of the Music Business knows how difficult it is to line up a show and then to have it canceled at the last minute. But, this reason got me.

It's because your Christian.

Well it so happened that they checked out their web page and found out they were Christian, and decided it's for the public's best interest to not have them play for this reason. Now, I'm kinda used to the fact that many people today have a hard time with Christianity. But, the letter he got back was quite disturbing even to me.

Now, he got a call being told, that they canceled them because they are Christian. So he wrote them letting them know about the other songs they have with just positive messages that really has nothing to a Religion. They even have a song called Not Religious which is actually quite funny.

Hello,
I am the president of 2nd Friday Night Out and coordinator of the event. We have received hundreds of applications for vendors, artists, and musicians for our events. We currently have a Christian rapper who will be performing for this month's event already and our goal with this month is tor reach out to the community with a wide range of musical genres. The 2nd Friday Night Out event is not a venue for individuals to proselytize their individual religions, sexual preferences, political positions, etc. but is a community event paid for by the merchants who run businesses on Main. Our musical director selects the music to represent and invite a wide range of interests and your band did not meet our criterion for this month's event. We would be glad to have you apply again for an upcoming event.

Proselytize? Really? To those who don't know what that word means.
Being a Christian most wouldn't know it. Why? Because it has nothing to do with Christianity!

Really? This has got to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. This place books Musicians every month and they make a statement like this?
This is every kind of music on the planet. In America it's called Freedom of Speech. Like what the Constitution of the United States speaks of.

Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Now anyone who loves music knows that ALL musicians practice this Amendment. ALL musicians have their views to share with the World. As I was looking over their own page.

I see musicians speaking of Partying, Sex, Hate, Political views and it goes on and on.
God forbid anyone to actually have a Positive message out on the streets of Mesa at the 2nd Friday night out.
At first glance I actually thought, no that can't be right. But, as you can see all over the news today. It seems the First Amendment and the Freedom of Speech is only being taken away from what the World thinks a Christian is. Not to mention they seem to not even care anything about their own heritage and history of this great Country of ours.

Then they received another message to top it all off.

I am sorry for the confusion and take full responsibility for the poor communication. This event is not run by the city of Mesa and while they can be blamed for many things, this is not their event or run by any city organizations so don't blame them. It isn't even an organization, corporation, etc. Just a group of people trying to make an event happen on no budget with no staff and trying to please everyone. We have had many groups apply who want to use this event to make a statement for their particular cause, group, religion, etc. Last month, we had a church group just show up who were not registered who were handing out literature for their religion and we were over run with complaints from people who felt they were being harrassed by them. Then we had a whole bunch of other religious groups want to attend to promote their groups. The committee who works for free hundreds of hours to make this happen voted to not include groups who were promoting a particular agenda. If we don't see you in a live performance, we can only base our decision on what we are presented on YouTube or the applications from the groups themselves and the music they saw of your group was Christian in message. I'm sure you may have other songs that do not address a particular religion but that is what we saw in our presentation.
Our goal is to promote local groups, provide a positive environment for artists, and try to do something positive in a world of people often looking to create disharmony and negativity. It sounds like our goals are pretty much the same. We do not make a penny from this. We have to operate under insurance from a non-profit agency and abide by their guidelines as well and were just notified this week of contracts that must be met by all the bands performing.

Really? I mean, REALLY?
Now I understand this. Churches! We do not live in the 70's anymore. Passing out tracts? Wake up this is 2010. I do have to agree the general person walking down the street will wind up throwing it right back down on the street. It makes a mess. The groups they are talking about. That may get a bit annoying as well.

The problem here is they are Judging these musicians and never really paid any attention to what they do. Let alone any of the ones they replaced them with. All of them fit into this exact description. Other than Christian.

Just from the Labeling and the rudeness of these letters just struck a chord in me. To know the true nature behind what they really want to promote has nothing to do with any positive nature by any means.
Not only do I NOT want to go down to the so-called 2nd Friday Night Out street fest. But it also makes me NOT want to have anything to do with any of the Businesses mentioned on their Web Site. Why? Because they don't like Christian bands who actually have a positive message.

Truthfully, I'm not sure if any Christian would after they read this.
This entire freedom of speech as long as it's not Christian thing is getting way out of hand.
They are worried about complaints?

The fact of the matter is this. The friends that I have Terry and Diane McCabe Have some pretty great music. Mostly done as husband and wife with 2 acoustic guitars, a wide range of style and really has no Religious aspects to it whatsoever. Anyone that actually listens to is would get that.

To be told you cannot play after they already booked you, for the only reason is because you are Christian is flat out ridicules. No matter what the excuse is. To say that any band can actually Proselytize, apparently doesn't quite know what the word means either. That would be a Catholic thing. Not Christian.

I do know this. I won't have anything to do with 2nd Friday Night Out or any of the Businesses that support them. Until they can get their own act together.

This is a very bad example to have in a state the Practices the Freedom of American citizens and stand by the leaders of it. Please don't take this bad news as what the State of Arizona stands for. Because it is not.

So those of you who actually like Christian's would like to book them, feel free to contact them. They actually have a real Positive message.

The arguments came in a case involving Michael Marcavage, a minister whose work includes street preaching. He was fined and put on probation for preaching to the public on a sidewalk outside the Liberty Bell center after a trial in which government prosecutors described his message and actions as a "clear and present danger." The case began in October 2007 when Marcavage, director of the Repent America ministry, was arrested by supervising U.S. Park Ranger Alan Saperstein.
