Fukushima Debacle Risks Chernobyl ‘Dead Zone’ as Radiation in Soil Soars

NASA Satellite Image of Japan Captured March 1...Image by NASA Goddard Photo and Video via Flickrhttp://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-05-30/japan-risks-chernobyl-like-dead-zone-as-fukushima-soil-radiation-soars.html
Radioactive soil in pockets of areas near Japan’s crippled nuclear plant have reached the same level as Chernobyl, where a “dead zone” remains 25 years after the reactor in the former Soviet Union exploded.
Soil samples in areas outside the 20-kilometer (12 miles) exclusion zone around the Fukushima plant measured more than 1.48 million becquerels a square meter, the standard used for evacuating residents after the Chernobyl accident, Tomio Kawata, a fellow at the Nuclear Waste Management Organization of Japan, said in a research report published May 24 and given to the government.
Radiation from the plant has spread over 600 square kilometers (230 square miles), according to the report. The extent of contamination shows the government must move fast to avoid the same future for the area around Tokyo Electric Power Co.’s Fukushima Dai-Ichi plant as Chernobyl, scientists said. Technology has improved since the 1980s, meaning soil can be decontaminated with chemicals or by planting crops to absorb radioactive materials, allowing residents to return.
“We need to finish this treatment as quickly as possible, within three years at most,” Tetsuo Iguchi, a specialist in isotope analysis and radiation detection at Nagoya University in central Japan, said in a telephone interview. “If we take longer, people will give up on returning to their homes.”

Radiation levels similar to nuclear bomb test site

http://www.naturalnews.com/032568_Fukushima_dead_zone.html#ixzz1Ny7opXKR

One soil sample taking 25 kilometers away from Fukushima showed Cesium-137 exceeding 5 million becquerels per square meter. This level, of course, makes it uninhabitable by humans, yet both the Japanese and U.S. governments continue to downplay the whole event, assuring their sheeple that there's nothing to worry about. By their logic, since all the people are sheeple anyway, as long as the area is safe enough for sheep, it's also safe enough for the human population.

Both Japan and the U.S. have made huge efforts to raise the limits of allowed radiation exposure in foods and beverages. This was, of course, a deceitful tactic to try to reclassify radiation contamination as somehow magically being "safe" by redefining it.

The outright lying and tactics of deception that have been used to try to downplay the severity of the radioactive fallout from Fukushima are nothing less than despicable. In a time when radiation threatens the safety and food supply of hundreds of millions of people, we are getting nothing but a Fukushima whitewash.

Fukushima is now far worse than Chernobyl ever was and yet we're all being told it's no problem and that the government has it all under control. I ask: How is 5 million becquerels per square meter not a problem? It's amazing that we even got this information, considering how frequently TEPCO claims its sensors and meters aren't working (basically any time they get a reading that's "too high").

5 Steps Americans Must Take to Avoid the Fate of Islamized Europe

Plurality religion by state, 2001. Data comes ...Image via Wikipedia“My dear American friends, you cannot imagine how we envy your First Amendment. The day when America follows the example of Europe and Canada and introduces so-called “hate speech crimes” which is only used to punish people who are critical of Islam, that day America will have lost its freedom.”

Never before have I walked into a church to be greeted by a barrier of armed police with metal detector wands. Nor have I had to let officers open my purse to search for weapons before I could enter a sanctuary—that is, until now.
That was when Geert Wilders came to speak at Cornerstone Church in Nashville, Tennessee. He came to warn America, to warn Christians. He came to wake up the Bible Belt to the threat of Islam. But before a single word was spoken, these ominous signs foreshadowed the truth of what was yet to come.

Geert Wilders is not a president, royalty, or anyone most of us would recognize on the street. And yet, as he took the podium to a loud applause and standing ovation, Wilders stood flanked with security constantly scanning the crowd, reminiscent of our own presidential secret service.
Why all the fuss for a representative from the Netherlands—a politician? Because he is a rare and endangered species; he is willing to speak the truth about what is happening in Europe. He refuses to submit to Islam or be bound and gagged by the power of the politically correct.
For this, he is facing a 16-month jail sentence by his own government for the high crime of “hate-speech.” Even more profound is that he is the constant target for assassination from the “misunderstanders of Islam.”
Wilders opened by telling the crowd he was happy to be there — happy to be able to speak freely, without the fear of being carted off to jail once he stepped out of the door. A concept hard for us here in the U.S. to grasp, but it is the stark reality of Europeans today.
He came with a very sobering warning, and a list of five things we must do now without fail, if we are to save our western culture and values.
“My friends, I am sorry. I am here today with an unpleasant message. I am here with a warning. I am here with a battle cry: “Wake up, Christians of Tennessee. Islam is at your gate.” Do not make the mistake which Europe made. Do not allow Islam to gain a foothold here.”

AFP: Philippines struggles under mountain of dead fish

A fish pond worker scoops up dead milkfish locally known as Bangus after thousands of them were found floating on Taal Lake in Batangas province, south of Manila, Philippines, Sunday May 29, 2011.

http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5jYOC02ijMCLIvbBoCEgK0Wg007KA?docId=CNG.7a2801a3386edab0f0599fdf44c4ec31.281
MANILA — Several lakeside towns in the Philippines on Monday were struggling to cope with mountains of rotting fish that were killed by a sudden drop in water temperatures at the weekend.
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources said more than 750 tonnes of fish had died since Friday in Taal Lake near Manila, hitting several towns whose economies are heavily reliant on the fishing industry.
Scientists said the onset of the rainy season led to a sharp drop in water temperatures that depleted oxygen levels in the lake.
Most of those killed were milk fish and tilapia being commercially bred in cages along the lake's shores.
"There are just so many dead fish," said Zenaida Mendoza, mayor of Talisay, one of the worst affected towns.
"Fishermen are hauling them manually using their boats, and bringing them ashore. But the rotting smell is overpowering and could pose a health risk."
She said sanitation and health officials were working flat out to dispose of the dead fish, although many remained exposed to the open air due to a lack of suitable sites to bury the hundreds of tonnes of carcasses.
Volcanologists said the incident was not related to recent activity of Taal Volcano, which lies in the middle of the lake and has been rumbling for over a month and is among the deadliest of the country's 23 active volcanoes. More »

FREE SPEECH SILENCED IN DEARBORN, MICHIGAN

The Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments t...Image via Wikipediahttp://www.teapartytribune.com/2011/04/22/free-speech-silenced-in-dearborn-michigan
April 22, 2012
Dear Patriots,
Today, The United West had a team of activists on the ground in Dearborn, Michigan assisting Michigan activists in maintaining their First Amendment right. They witnessed the City of Dearborn, Michigan standing firmly with Shairah Law and not with the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.
Pastor Jones, who brought the issue to the forefront, is secondary to the issue of the United States Constitution losing ground to Shariah compliance.
The Government of Dearborn, Michigan is FEARFUL of Muslims and functions, de facto, as a Shariah compliant city.
Citizens of Dearborn must view this GOOD FRIDAY as a “day of awakening” and start the hard work to save their formally beautiful and proud city.
The United West is on the ground in Michigan assisting the activists who call Michigan their home and will retain a presence there to save the state from pervasive and destructive Shariah compliant doctrine.
We were there today to support the patriots of Dearborn and will remain there as the ONLY academic, resistance and confrontational activists in the nation.
God Bless you, our great patriots, on this Easter weekend. May God bless and Save America.
In Liberty,

Medical News: WHO Says Cell Phones May Cause Cancer

Pictogram: use of cellphones is prohibitedImage via Wikipediahttp://www.medpagetoday.com/PublicHealthPolicy/PublicHealth/26776
A work group of the World Health Organization has declared the radiofrequency electromagnetic fields emitted by cell phones to be "possibly carcinogenic to humans."
The declaration was made after a week-long meeting of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in Lyon, France, which involved 31 scientists from 14 countries, who decided there was enough evidence linking use of cellphones to an increased risk of glioblastoma.
The declaration puts these energy fields into the IARC's group 2B for carcinogenic agents -- one notch above compounds "not classifiable" as cancer-causing because of inadequate evidence.
Other agents in group 2B include progestins and anti-epileptics such as phenytoin and phenobarbital.
Jonathan Samet, MD, of the University of Southern California and chair of the work group, said the "evidence, while still accumulating, is strong enough to support a conclusion and the 2B classification."
"The conclusion means that there could be some risk, and therefore we need to keep a close watch for a link between cellphones and cancer risk," Samet said in a statement.
The IARC's group 2A classification -- probably carcinogenic to humans -- includes shift work involving circadian changes and high-temperature frying.
Benzene, hexavalent chromium, mustard gas, solar radiation, and other radioactive elements are among the agency's highest class of carcinogens, group 1, those with "sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity."
The WHO work group did not find that there was sufficient evidence linking cancer and environmental or occupational exposures with microwave energy.
The latest large-registry study on cancer and cellphone use -- the Interphone study, sponsored by both government and industry sources and reported last year -- found no conclusive link between talk time and glioblastoma. There was a significant increase associated with the highest levels of use, but researchers said spending that amount of time on the phone was "implausible."
In addition, odds ratios for other categories of cellphone use appeared to be protective.
Still, a recent study by researchers at the National Institute on Drug Abuse -- known for their fMRI studies of the brains of addicts -- found that active cellphones changed glucose metabolism in the parts of the brain closest to the antenna.

Algerian Christian sentenced to prison after sharing faith with neighbor

Londonistan: How Britain is Creating a Terror ...Image via Wikipediahttp://www.catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=10483
Siagh Krimo, an Algerian Christian, was sentenced to five years in prison on May 25 after he shared his faith with a neighbor. Krimo was sentenced under the nation’s blasphemy law, which prohibits actions that “insult the prophet [Muhammad] and any of the messengers of God, or denigrate the creed and precepts of Islam, whether by writing, drawing, declaration, or any other means.”
“Algerian Christians have been under attack in recent weeks as laws have been increasingly enforced to discriminate against them,” said Aidan Clay of International Christian Concern. “Earlier this week, seven churches in Béjaia were ordered to close. Now, an Algerian Christian is on the verge of being unjustly imprisoned for accusations of criticizing Islam. While Algeria professes that it upholds religious freedom, it also embraces a blasphemy law that, by its very nature, can be used to prosecute anyone who does not adhere to the religion of Islam.”
Only 4,000 of Algeria’s 34.8 million people are Catholic, according to Vatican statistics; 99% of Algerians are Muslim.

Italian Seismologists Charged With Manslaughter for Not Predicting 2009 Quake

L'Aquila earthquake damagesImage via WikipediaSee what happens when Governments get out of hand? To much power only bring yet more corruption. This is crazy. But true.
http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/05/27/italian-scientist-charged-manslaughter-failing-predict-earthquake
Italian government officials have accused the country's top seismologist of manslaughter, after failing to predict a natural disaster that struck Italy in 2009, a massive devastating earthquake that killed 308 people.
A shocked spokesman for the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) likened the accusations to a witch hunt.
"It has a medieval flavor to it -- like witches are being put on trial," the stunned spokesman told FoxNews.com.
Enzo Boschi, the president of Italy's National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), will face trial along with six other scientists and technicians, after failing to predict the future and the impending disaster.
Earthquakes are, of course, nearly impossible to predict, seismologists say. In fact, according to the website for the USGS, no major quake has ever been predicted successfully.
"Neither the USGS nor Caltech nor any other scientists have ever predicted a major earthquake," reads a statement posted on the USGS website. "They do not know how, and they do not expect to know how any time in the foreseeable future."
John Vidale, a Washington State seismologist and professor at the University of Washington, agreed that earthquake forecasting is simply impossible.
"We're not able to predict earthquakes very well at all," he told LiveScience.
"One problem is, we don't know how much stress it takes to break a fault," Vidale told the site. "Second we still don't know how much stress is down there. All we can do is measure how the ground is deforming."
Not knowing either of these factors makes it pretty tough to figure out when stresses will get to the point of a rupture, and an earth-shaking quake, LiveScience explained.
The seven scientists were placed under investigation almost a year ago, according to a news story on the website of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) -- the world's largest general-science society and a leading voice for the interests of scientists worldwide.

Seismologists tried for manslaughter over quake

By Jeanna Bryner, LiveScience Managing Editor

Earthquake prediction can be a grave, and faulty science, and in the case of Italian seismologists who are being tried for the manslaughter of the people who died in the 2009 L'Aquila quake, it can have legal consequences.
The group of seven, including six seismologists and a government official, reportedly didn't alert the public ahead of time of the risk of the L'Aquila earthquake, which occurred on April 6 of that year, killing around 300 people, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
But most scientists would agree it's not their fault they couldn't predict the wrath of Mother Nature.
"We're not able to predict earthquakes very well at all," John Vidale, a Washington State seismologist and professor at the University of Washington, told LiveScience.
Even though advances have been made, the day scientists are able to forecast earthquakes is still "far away," Dimitar Ouzounov, a professor of earth sciences at Chapman University in California, said this month regarding the prediction of the March 11 earthquake in Japan.

Indiana Supreme Court: Resisting an Unlawful Entry Into Your Home is… Unlawful

http://michellemalkin.com/2011/05/14/indiana-supreme-court/
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. — 4th Amendment to the US Constitution
The Indiana Supreme Court has ruled that the 4th Amendment needs a disclaimer when it comes to officers of the law acting unlawfully (at which point, by definition, wouldn’t they cease to be “officers of the law”?).
Bruce McQuain has the details:
That’s what the Indiana Supreme Court decided in what would be a laughable finding if it wasn’t so serious:
Overturning a common law dating back to the English Magna Carta of 1215, the Indiana Supreme Court ruled Thursday that Hoosiers have no right to resist unlawful police entry into their homes.
The author of the story reporting this is right – somehow the ISC managed, in one fell swoop, to overturn almost 900 years of precedent, going back to the Magna Carta.
In a 3-2 decision, Justice Steven David writing for the court said if a police officer wants to enter a home for any reason or no reason at all, a homeowner cannot do anything to block the officer’s entry.
Or said another way, your home is no longer your castle.

Immigration Measure Approved By South Carolina House

Map of USA with South Carolina highlightedImage via Wikipediahttp://www.personalliberty.com/news/immigration-measure-approved-by-south-carolina-house-4-800515386/?eiid=
South Carolina’s House of Representatives has approved a bill that would allow law enforcement officials to check an individual’s immigration status during routine traffic stops.
According to The Post and Courier, the chamber passed the measure 69-43 on May 24. The State Senate approved the Arizona-style immigration legislation last March, and Governor Nikki Haley, a Republican, is expected to sign it into law.
The National Conference of State Legislatures reports that approximately 30 States have considered stricter policies against illegal immigration, most of which center around law enforcement and employment verification. In 2008, South Carolina adopted a law that requires businesses to verify that their staff members are legal citizens.
State Representative Chris Murphy (R-Summerville) said that tougher immigration policies make “good financial sense” for the Palmetto State.
“I think when you look at the problems that we have with illegal immigration, the financial cost that the state has to bear, we need to encourage more legal immigration,” said Murphy, quoted by news source.
Meanwhile, a GOP lawmaker in Wisconsin introduced a bill that mirrors the South Carolina traffic-stop law on May 24, The Associated Press reported. If the legislation is passed, individuals who fail to provide proof of citizenship can be detained for up to 48 hours until they can prove their legal status.

Obama ratchets up pressure on Gadhafi; Russians object - CNN.com

BARACK OBAMA SHOWS HIS TRUE SELF MORE EACH AND...Image by SS&SS via FlickrObama has the right to do this How? It's sad to see a President that don't even know our own Constitution. You know, The Law of the Land of America!

Tripoli, Libya (CNN) -- As U.S. President Barack Obama warned Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi Wednesday that there would be "no letup" in NATO airstrikes, Russia lashed out against the air campaign, calling the bombing of certain Tripoli targets a "flagrant deviation" from the United Nations mandate.
The U.N. chief said Wednesday he had spoken with the Libyan prime minister and stressed the urgent need for a ceasefire.
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said the special U.N. envoy for Libya, who has been in Benghazi meeting with the Libyan opposition, would be returning to Tripoli soon to try to secure an agreement.
The war has dragged on for many weeks, with reports of horrific fighting and civilian casualties.
The Russian Foreign Ministry alleged Wednesday that several "non-military facilities in Tripoli that had already been bombed, were again attacked in a massive NATO airstrike, leading to civilian casualties." It said in a written statement that "this is yet another flagrant deviation" from the U.N. Security Council resolution 1973.
That resolution authorized all means necessary, short of occupying forces, to enforce a no-fly zone and protect Libyan civilians from attacks by forces loyal to Gadhafi.
A barrage of at least 18 rockets struck Tripoli Tuesday, killing 19 people and wounding another 150 in the heaviest onslaught since NATO's aerial strikes began, a government official told CNN.

Toddler Missing After Oklahoma Tornado, More Twisters Bear Down on Midwest

Searchers hunted desperately for a 3-year-old boy in the wreckage of an Oklahoma tornado today as forecasters warned of yet another wave of severe weather that could trigger even more twisters for the hard hit region.
Fresh tornado strikes are predicted this afternoon and evening in portions of the mid-Mississippi and lower Ohio valleys.

Conditions will be ripe for the formation of long-track, violent tornadoes in those areas, possibly bringing further devastation to the area, the National Weather Service said.
The death toll from the latest storms in Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas rose to 14 today, while the National Weather Service reports that a tornado has "destroyed the full town" of Denning, Ark. Three people died in the hamlet whose population is approximately 270.
Ryan Hamil, a 3-year-old boy from hard-hit Piedmont, Okla., is unaccounted for as survivors dig through rubble caused by a tornado Tuesday evening. A dog team is looking for the toddler at his last known location on 248th Street and Sara Road in Piedmont.
Mayor Valerie Thomerson told ABC News Oklahoma City affiliate KOCO that the boy's home was destroyed and his mother and siblings were injured when a powerful tornado touched down Tuesday night. As many as 200 homes were damaged in the town of 3,650 people.
In Louisburg, Kan., Dan Goff was heading to pick up his daughter from school when his Ford pickup truck, which can weigh up to two tons, was tossed into the air like a matchcar.

The tornado held him and his truck in the air for five to ten seconds before slamming it back down to earth. Goff escaped virtually unharmed.
Rescue workers in Joplin continued the search for survivors in the rubble left by Sunday's massive EF-5 tornado that has left at least 124 in the city dead and leveled at least 30 percent of the town of approximately 50,000.

Ron Paul Floor Speech May 25 2011

Robert R. LivingstonImage via Wikipediahttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-olNr4UuVqY&feature=player_embedded#at=121
The Last Nail The last nail is being driven into the coffin of the American Republic. Yet, Congress remains in total denial as our liberties are rapidly fading before our eyes. The process is propelled by unwarranted fear and ignorance as to the true meaning of liberty. It is driven by economic myths, fallacies and irrational good intentions. The rule of law is constantly rejected and authoritarian answers are offered as panaceas for all our problems. Runaway welfarism is used to benefit the rich at the expense of the middle class. Who would have ever thought that the current generation and Congress would stand idly by and watch such a rapid disintegration of the American Republic? Characteristic of this epic event is the casual acceptance by the people and political leaders of the unitary presidency, which is equivalent to granting dictatorial powers to the President. Our Presidents can now, on their own:

1. Order assassinations, including American citizens,
2. Operate secret military tribunals,
3. Engage in torture,
4. Enforce indefinite imprisonment without due process,
5. Order searches and seizures without proper warrants, gutting the 4th Amendment,
6. Ignore the 60 day rule for reporting to the Congress the nature of any military operations as required by the War Power Resolution,
7. Continue the Patriot Act abuses without oversight,
8. Wage war at will,
9. Treat all Americans as suspected terrorists at airports with TSA groping and nude x-raying.
And the Federal Reserve accommodates by counterfeiting the funds needed and not paid for by taxation and borrowing, permitting runaway spending, endless debt, and special interest bail-outs.
And all of this is not enough. The abuses and usurpations of the war power are soon to be codified in the National Defense Authorization Act now rapidly moving its way through the Congress. Instead of repealing the 2001 Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF), as we should, now that bin Laden is dead and gone, Congress is planning to massively increase the war power of the President. Though an opportunity presents itself to end the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, Congress, with bipartisan support, obsesses on how to expand the unconstitutional war power the President already holds. The current proposal would allow a President to pursue war any time, any place, for any reason, without Congressional approval. Many believe this would even permit military activity against American suspects here at home. The proposed authority does not reference the 9/11 attacks. It would be expanded to include the Taliban and "associated" forces—a dangerously vague and expansive definition of our potential enemies. There is no denial that the changes in s.1034 totally eliminate the hard-fought-for restraint on Presidential authority to go to war without Congressional approval achieved at the Constitutional Convention. Congress' war authority has been severely undermined since World War II beginning with the advent of the Korean War which was fought solely under a UN Resolution. Even today, we're waging war in Libya without even consulting with the Congress, similar to how we went to war in Bosnia in the 1990s under President Clinton. The three major reasons for our Constitutional Convention were to:
1. Guarantee free trade and travel among the states.
2. Make gold and silver legal tender and abolish paper money.
3. Strictly limit the Executive Branch's authority to pursue war without Congressional approval.
But today:
1. Federal Reserve notes are legal tender, gold and silver are illegal.
2. The Interstate Commerce Clause is used to regulate all commerce at the expense of free trade among the states.
3. And now the final nail is placed in the coffin of Congressional responsibility for the war power, delivering this power completely to the President—a sharp and huge blow to the concept of our Republic.
In my view, it appears that the fate of the American Republic is now sealed—unless these recent trends are quickly reversed.
The saddest part of this tragedy is that all these horrible changes are being done in the name of patriotism and protecting freedom. They are justified by good intentions while believing the sacrifice of liberty is required for our safety. Nothing could be further from the truth.
More sadly is the conviction that our enemies are driven to attack us for our freedoms and prosperity, and not because of our deeply flawed foreign policy that has generated justifiable grievances and has inspired the radical violence against us. Without this understanding our endless, unnamed, and undeclared wars will continue and our wonderful experience with liberty will end.

Netanyahu: Open to 'painful compromises' for peace

Benjamin NetanyahuImage via Wikipediahttp://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43150056/ns/world_news-mideast_n_africa

In an address to a joint meeting of Congress, Israel's prime minister pledged to make "painful compromises" for peace with the Palestinians, but said he would not agree to any deal that threatens Israel's security or its identity as a Jewish state.
Netanyahu, who received a rapturous reception from lawmakers on both sides of the political divide, said Israel wants and needs peace but repeated his flat rejection of a return to what he called the "indefensible" borders that existed before the 1967 Mideast war. He also restated Israel's refusal to entertain the return of millions of Palestinian refugees and their families to land in Israel. And, he maintained that Jerusalem, claimed by both sides as their capital, could not be divided.

"Israel will never give up its quest for peace," Netanyahu said, adding that he is "willing to make painful compromises to achieve this historic peace."
"Now this is not easy for me. It's not easy, because I recognize that in a genuine peace we will be required to give up parts of the ancestral Jewish homeland,'' he said, referring to the occupied West Bank.
Netanyahu tells Abbas: Ditch Hamas
In outlining his peace vision, Netanyahu said Israel would not negotiate with terrorists and urged Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to rip up a power-sharing agreement that his moderate Fatah faction has signed with the militant group Hamas — which does not recognize Israel's right to exist — and shelve efforts to win U.N. statehood status unilaterally.
"I say to President Abbas 'Tear up your pact with Hamas and sit down and negotiate, make peace with the Jewish state.'"
"The Palestinian attempt to impose a settlement through the United Nations will not bring peace. It should be forcefully opposed by all those who want to see this conflict end," Netanyahu said.
