Never before have I walked into a church to be greeted by a barrier of armed police with metal detector wands. Nor have I had to let officers open my purse to search for weapons before I could enter a sanctuary—that is, until now.
That was when Geert Wilders came to speak at Cornerstone Church in Nashville, Tennessee. He came to warn America, to warn Christians. He came to wake up the Bible Belt to the threat of Islam. But before a single word was spoken, these ominous signs foreshadowed the truth of what was yet to come.

Geert Wilders is not a president, royalty, or anyone most of us would recognize on the street. And yet, as he took the podium to a loud applause and standing ovation, Wilders stood flanked with security constantly scanning the crowd, reminiscent of our own presidential secret service.
Why all the fuss for a representative from the Netherlands—a politician? Because he is a rare and endangered species; he is willing to speak the truth about what is happening in Europe. He refuses to submit to Islam or be bound and gagged by the power of the politically correct.
For this, he is facing a 16-month jail sentence by his own government for the high crime of “hate-speech.” Even more profound is that he is the constant target for assassination from the “misunderstanders of Islam.”
Wilders opened by telling the crowd he was happy to be there — happy to be able to speak freely, without the fear of being carted off to jail once he stepped out of the door. A concept hard for us here in the U.S. to grasp, but it is the stark reality of Europeans today.
He came with a very sobering warning, and a list of five things we must do now without fail, if we are to save our western culture and values.

“My friends, I am sorry. I am here today with an unpleasant message. I am here with a warning. I am here with a battle cry: “Wake up, Christians of Tennessee. Islam is at your gate.” Do not make the mistake which Europe made. Do not allow Islam to gain a foothold here.”

Death toll rises as river crests, floods Nashville

clipped from news.yahoo.com NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Muddy waters poured over the banks of Nashville's swollen Cumberland River on Monday, spilling into Music City's historic downtown streets while rescuers using boats and Jet Skis plucked stranded residents away from their flooded homes as the death toll from the weekend storms climbed to 28 people in three states. The flash floods caused by record-breaking amounts of rain caught many off-guard, forcing thousands to frantically flee their homes and hotels. The rapidly rising waters led to the deaths of 17 people in Tennessee alone, including 10 in Nashville, and officials feared that the death toll could increase. Officials announced the latest deaths late Monday after receding flood waters revealed six more bodies. "Do we suspect to find more people? Probably so. We certainly hope that it's not a large number," said Metro Nashville Davidson County Fire Chief Kim Lawson. "You never think something like this will happen in Nashville,"

Nashville's Music Community Devastated By Floods

clipped from new.music.yahoo.com What started out as a heavy weekend storm in the Southeast ended up as record flooding in Tennessee this week--killing at least 19 people, destroying roads and property, and driving President Obama to declare parts of the state major disaster areas. The rain, of course, didn't spare Nashville or its music community. Most notably, the legendary country landmark the Grand Ole Opry House is currently under six feet of water, with as-yet-unknown damage to its historic collections. The overall cost of damages to the city is estimated to exceed $1 billion, according to Nashville mayor Karl Dean. But country artists themselves have been affected sorely as well. While giving fervent thanks for being safe and sound, many artists still lamented the loss of musical equipment, damage to their homes, and shows canceled due to the disaster. "The things I lost, I can replace, thank God," he added. "But there are people here that have lost their lives and their livelihood."

BREAKING - Piranhas loose in Opry Mills

clipped from wwww.examiner.com In a story filed by Teresa Weakley for the ABC affiliate, WRKN, in Nashville, Metro Nashville police say the fish tank at the Aquarium restaurant burst during the flooding and the marine life escaped. The fish are mostly saltwater species and did not survive the 'freshwater' flooding. Apparently, however, one species did and it is the piranha. It can survive in freshwater. After record flooding, Tennessee to get more rain

clipped from www.cnn.com (CNN) -- Tennessee can expect two to three more inches of rain Sunday, a day after a heavy downpour triggered severe flooding and killed at least five people. Two people were killed Saturday when their SUV was caught in flood waters in Dover, about 80 miles northwest of Nashville, an emergency management official said. One more person was reported dead in Davidson County, a spokeswoman for the Nashville mayor's office said. The other two deaths were in Williamson County and Carroll County, said Jeremy Heidt, spokesman for Tennessee Emergency Management. "This is one of the most severe rain events Nashville has ever experienced," Nashville Mayor Karl Dean said in a statement. Video: Nashville resident captures 'practically a class two rapids' on her neighborhood streets Dean said more than 50 water rescues had been conducted Saturday, and more were under way. "I urge all Nashville residents to stay home and stay off the roads," Dean said.
