Bloomberg Wants 'Big Brother Britain' For NYC

clipped from wcbstv.com Mayor In London, Meets With Police Chief And Examine City's Security System Consisting Of 500,000 Cameras Mayor Michael Bloomberg has his eye on more security against terror attacks. He went to London Tuesday to check out their surveillance camera system, one of the largest in the world. Ever since the Times Square car bomb scare on May 1, the mayor's been looking to build up New York's camera network. That means adding to the ring of steel in Times Square, similar to central London's. The mayor said more NYPD surveillance cameras may prevent another terror scare. London has 500,000 surveillance cameras, more than any other city in the world. Bloomberg visited London's mayor to see how these help Britain fight terror. "We live in a world of suicide bombers. We live in a world of international terrorism," Bloomberg said. Nearly everywhere you look in London, there's someone or some "thing" looking right back at you.

Attorney General: Suspects Detained in Times Square Bomb Plot

clipped from www1.voanews.com U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder says several people were taken into custody during raids in the northeastern United States in connection with this month's failed Times Square car bombing in New York City.  Holder faced questions from congressional lawmakers about the Obama administration's national security policies and counter-terrorism funding for New York City.  "Just this morning, we executed search warrants in several locations in the Northeast in connection with the investigation into the attempted bombing," he said. "Several individuals who were encountered during those searches have been taken into federal custody for alleged immigration violations."  "These searches are the product of evidence that has been gathered in the investigation since the attempted Times Square bombing and do not relate to any known immediate threat to the public or active plot against the United States," he added.

Obama, Does Islam Still Have a Place in America?

Anti-West leftists who worship Che Guevara and extol Bill Ayers never want to insult those trying to blow up the world.  It would be intolerant. Political correctness has allowed Islamic terror: the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, 9/11, LAX, the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels, murdering American military abroad at Khobar Towers, Kenya, Tanzania, Philippines, Mogadishu, Beirut, U.S.S. Cole, the Shoe Bomber, Arafat’s plane hijackings, Saddam ignoring 17 UN Resolutions, and Nidal Malik Hasan, the Muslim jihadist serving in the U.S. military who murdered 13 Fort Hood soldiers.

AG: Times Square bomb suspect admits role

clipped from www.msnbc.msn.com NEW YORK - Pakistani-born U.S. citizen Faisal Shahzad has admitted trying to set off a car bomb in busy Times Square and will face terrorism and mass destruction charges, Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday. "Based on what we know so far, it is clear that this was a terrorist plot aimed at murdering Americans in one of the busiest places in our country," Holder said. Authorities tracked down Shahzad using the vehicle identification number on the Nissan Pathfinder that failed to detonate. They linked that number to a recent sale in Connecticut, Holder said. Once they identified Shahzad, authorities placed him on a federal air travel no-fly list. He was arrested late Monday night aboard a plane bound for the United Arab Emirates. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano declined to say how Shahzad was able to board the flight if he was on the No Fly list.
