More than 400 people were arrested as violence broke out after thousands of anti-G20 protesters marched through downtown Toronto on Saturday, prompting police to use tear gas in the city for the first time.
"I am profoundly disappointed in the criminal acts which have taken place," Toronto police Chief Bill Blair said at a news conference.
"We have seen windows broken and police cars burned. It is very regrettable that such vandalism and violence could not be prevented. I want to assure you that the persons responsible will be held accountable."
Four police vehicles were set ablaze, store and bank windows were smashed and much of the area was put under security lockdowns. The Integrated Security Unit said 412 people were arrested.
Throughout the evening, police moved people east along Queen Street. Police were still trying to move small groups out of the downtown core early Sunday, hours after most demonstrators had gone home.

Nogales, Arizona (CNN) -- Mario Morales keeps his Commando assault rifle propped up on the seat of his patrol vehicle. The car snakes along a dirt road about a half-mile from the Mexican border.
He's always kept the rifle within arm's reach. But in recent weeks, staying armed at all times has taken on a new urgency: Mexican cartels have issued death threats against the police on the Nogales force.
His car rolls to a stop. Morales steps out and points to a nearby hillside where a rusty fence cuts through the desert landscape, separating the United States from Mexico.

"This is the first time Nogales police officers have ever been threatened by anyone in drug trafficking," says chief Kirkham. "I take a death threat any time against a police officer -- locally, federally or state -- as very serious."
At one point, while Morales is speaking with CNN, he turns down his radio for a few minutes. The department issues an all-points bulletin for him.
"It's very dangerous. You have to be very careful," he says.
The lifelong resident of Nogales then climbs back into his police car. Dust kicks up along the barren road. The patrols never stop.

Mexican Drug Cartel Warns Police Officers in Arizona Border Town to 'Look the Other Way'

One expert said the threat likely came from the Sinaloa Cartel, which is headed by Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman-Loera, who is being sought by American and Mexican authorities.
Police officers in a small Arizona border city are on heightened alert following a tip that a Mexican drug cartel will put them in its crosshairs if they conduct off-duty busts.
The threat stems from a marijuana seizure made this month by two off-duty police officers riding on horseback in an unincorporated area east of Nogales, a city of roughly 20,000, Police Chief Jeffrey Kirkham told FoxNews.com.
"The word was that these particular officers would be targeted if they were ever in that area again and were not on duty and intercepted any drug trafficking," Kirkham said. "It said they should look the other way."

Drug Cartel Activity Threatens Texas Water Supplies, Lawmaker Says

Falcon Dam in south Texas is the lowermost major multipurpose international dam and reservoir on the Rio Grande River.
Drug cartel activity along the Mexican border presents serious security threats to the area's water supply system, particularly on federally-owned lands in southern Texas, a U.S. lawmaker says.
Members of the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Water and Power held a hearing Thursday on H.R. 4719, a bill that would create a Southwest Border Region Water Task Force to monitor and assess the water supply needs of the area.

Police chief: Cartels threaten U.S. law enforcement in Arizona

(CNN) -- Drug cartels are making direct death threats to U.S. law enforcement officials in Nogales, Arizona, the police chief there told CNN.
The threats began less than two weeks ago, after off-duty police officers from the Nogales police department seized several hundred pounds of marijuana from a drug smuggling operation they stumbled upon while horseback riding in the eastern fringes of Nogales, the chief said.
The smugglers in the incident managed to flee into Mexico before they could be detained, Nogales Police Chief Jeffrey Kirkham told CNN.

  • "America is based on freedom. We're not going to be intimidated by the threats, but we are taking them seriously. I've told my officers if they venture into that area off duty to be armed," Kirkham said.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection sent an increased presence to the area where the bust happened, Kirkham said.
It was unclear which cartel was making the threats against the Nogales police department, but Kirkham said there is a turf war on the other side of the border in Nogales Sonora, Mexico, between the Sinaloa cartel and the Juarez cartel.
Kirkham said he was unaware of cartels trying to bribe or extort his police officers, but he did say cartel's are using the same tactics on U.S. law enforcement that they do on local law enforcement in Mexico.
In May, a former sheriff's deputy in nearby Santa Cruz County — 29-year-old former deputy Jesus R. Contreras — and another man were arrested on federal drug-smuggling and gun charges. Local reports said Contreras was wearing a police uniform when he tried smuggling five kilograms of cocaine through a checkpoint on March 2.

Christian Militia Raid: Family of Four Allegedly Behind Plot to Ambush Police

Protecting a murderous belief system, and the stupidity of the not just the news but the very Government who claims they are protecting us?
The video at the link here has got to be one to the worst claims and reports against people just trying to protect themselves.

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/TheLaw/christian-militia-targeted-anti-muslim-views/story?id=10228716

This also really goes to show these people in the Media have never read the Constitution of the United States of America and welcome the real terrorist to the point of even protecting them. Basically According to the Media and the FBI, if you try to protect yourself, they may send the FBI to raid you.

It's OK to protect those who be-head people, blow others up by plane, subway and self mutilation under suicidal tendencies. But by know mean are you allowed to protect yourself from them?
My God how stupid can the American People become? Let alone our own Government?

A family of four was behind an anti-government militia plot to kill law enforcement officers with improvised explosive devices and projectiles before being foiled by an FBI raid Sunday that netted nine members of a Christian extremist group, federal authorities said today.

David Brian Stone, 45, his wife, Tina Stone, 44, and David Stone's two adult sons allegedly conspired with five other members of the fringe Christian militia group called the Hutaree to kill a Michigan law enforcement officer and then ambush the officer's colleagues who would have gathered for the funeral, according to court documents.

All were indicted by a federal grand jury of seditious conspiracy, attempted use of weapons of mass destruction, teaching the use of explosive materials and possessing a firearm during a crime of violence. They appeared in court this morning but no pleas were made.

Brown calls anti-police booby traps in Riverside County 'urban terrorism'

clipped from www.latimes.com
Jerry Brown

Describing it as "urban terrorism," California Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown joined with Riverside County officials Thursday in asking the public to help find those who tried at least three times to kill officers assigned to a Hemet-based gang task force.

"It is incredible and even unprecedented for police officers here to be subject to terrorist attack," Brown said at a Riverside news conference. "We have seen it south of the border, but not here yet."

The attacks have involved booby traps aimed at either the headquarters of the Hemet-San Jacinto Gang Task Force or officers assigned to the unit, officials said.
Last December a utility line was redirected to flood the offices with gas so any spark would cause an explosion. In February, a modified handgun was hidden by the gate to the office and rigged to fire
Officials have put up a $200,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
