More than 10 rockets have been fired from Gaza into Israel following a series of overnight Israeli air strikes on targets in the north and south of the strip in which a teenage boy was killed and more than a dozen people injured.
The action followed an audacious three-pronged assault near Israel's border with Egypt on Thursday, in which eight Israelis and at least five militants were killed in the deadliest attack in Israel for several years.
The Israeli military said two of the rockets fired by militants in Gaza on Friday caused damage and injuries at a synagogue and school in the southern Israeli city of Ashdod. S
Israel deployed its Iron Dome mobile air defence system and intercepted at least one of the Grad and Qassam rockets. Most landed on open ground.
The Israeli air force struck seven targets in Gaza in the early hours of Friday, which it said included a weapons storage unit, two tunnels used for smuggling arms and militant training sites.
Thirteen-year-old Mahmoud Abu Samra was killed and up to 18 others wounded in an air strike on a home near the former intelligence service headquarters in Gaza City, according to medics quoted by the Palestinian news agency Ma'an.
Israeli officials said the Gaza-based Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) was responsible for the attacks near the Red Sea resort of Eilat. A large squad of militants crossed through tunnels from Gaza into Egypt, and then travelled 125 miles (200km) south through the lawless Sinai peninsula before crossing into Egypt north of Eilat, according to officials.
Although Israel has begun building a security fence along two sections of its border with Egypt, only about a tenth of it is completed and officials acknowledge the border is porous.
According to reports in the Israeli media, the IDF believe the purpose of the attack was to kidnap a civilian or a soldier. An Israeli official told the Guardian: "We knew they were out there," suggesting intelligence had picked up the possibility of an attack

Hamas Summer Camps Train Next Generation Terrorists

Israeli woman injured from Hamas Grad rocket f...Image via Wikipediahttp://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/144850
Hamas is reporting record turnouts for its summer camps for children in 2011.
The 'summer camps,' combining Islamic indoctrination, paramilitary training, and social activities are set to begin again this year as United Nation’s summer camps, considered competition by Hamas, are being openly denigrated by jihadistsChildren and adolescents are an important target demographic for Hamas, from which its future army of terrorists will be recruited. Summer camps are an important means for indoctrinating Gaza's youth with Hamas' jihadist ideology.
In 2010 Hamas ran camps for an estimated 100,000 campers, a number similar to 2009. The Islamic Jihad terror group ran 51 camps with 10,000 participating boys and girls.
Hamas spokesman Ismail Radwan reported the objectives of the camps were to raise a generation of children with 'genuine Islamic values.'
"Children working for the interests of their homeland and to educate them to the culture of the Islamic faith so they will remember their goals, including Jerusalem and the prisoners," Radwan said
In addition to indoctrination, Hamas terrorists give children paramilitary training. Banners are hung on the walls with slogans extolling jihad and 'death for the sake of Allah.'

Defense Ministry releases footage of Iron Dome in action

The Defense Ministry released a video on Sunday showing the Iron Dome missile defense system intercepting a Grad rocket fired from Gaza.
The video shows an Iron Dome battery near Ashkelon take down a rocket which was fired over the weekend.
video platform video management video solutions video player
The Iron Dome system has successfully intercepted eight rockets since it was first deployed. It is currently only being deployed on an experimental mode, with two batteries in operation: one near Be'er Sheva and one near Ashkelon.
While most of the media attention has been given to the visible interceptions made over Gaza, the system actually clicks into action automatically when any projectile is launched from Gaza toward Israel.
The commanders of the Iron Dome batteries were therefore faced with making dozens of real-time decisions on whether or not to fire an intercepting missile.

In the future, many of these decision will be made by the system's computers, but because the Iron Dome is in experimental mode, most of the decisions must be made by the operators themselves.
In the future, once the defense system's capabilities are better known, rockets heading toward open spaces in unpopulated areas will not necessarily be intercepted.

Gog’s Armies Destroyed
1 “And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh,[d] Meshech, and Tubal; 2 and I will turn you around and lead you on, bringing you up from the far north, and bring you against the mountains of Israel. 3 Then I will knock the bow out of your left hand, and cause the arrows to fall out of your right hand. 4 You shall fall upon the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you; I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. 5 You shall fall on the open field; for I have spoken,” says the Lord GOD. 6 “And I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in security in the coastlands. Then they shall know that I am the LORD. 7 So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. 8 Surely it is coming, and it shall be done,” says the Lord GOD. “This is the day of which I have spoken.
9 “Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and bucklers, the bows and arrows, the javelins and spears; and they will make fires with them for seven years. 10 They will not take wood from the field nor cut down any from the forests, because they will make fires with the weapons; and they will plunder those who plundered them, and pillage those who pillaged them,” says the Lord GOD.
The Burial of Gog

11 “It will come to pass in that day that I will give Gog a burial place there in Israel, the valley of those who pass by east of the sea; and it will obstruct travelers, because there they will bury Gog and all his multitude. Therefore they will call it the Valley of Hamon Gog.[e] 12 For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order to cleanse the land. 13 Indeed all the people of the land will be burying, and they will gain renown for it on the day that I am glorified,” says the Lord GOD. 14 “They will set apart men regularly employed, with the help of a search party,[f] to pass through the land and bury those bodies remaining on the ground, in order to cleanse it. At the end of seven months they will make a search. 15 The search party will pass through the land; and when anyone sees a man’s bone, he shall set up a marker by it, till the buriers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon Gog. 16 The name of the city will also be Hamonah. Thus they shall cleanse the land.”’

The fact is. Israel needs to protect it's people from these monsters. Yet the U.N. and the entire Islamic world would rather see them wiped out. So humanitarian of them all isn't it? And yet it's their own law. Go figure that one.

Bethlehem – Ma'an – The Israeli army said Saturday evening that four projectiles from Gaza landed in Israeli territory over the weekend.
Israeli media reported that two homemade projectile landed in the coastal city of Asheklon on Saturday, causing no injuries or damage.
Earlier, the Israeli news site Yedioth Ahronoth reported that a projectile landed in Nahal Oz, in northern Israel, with no casualties reported.
Meanwhile, an unexploded projectile believed to have been launched on Friday was found near a kibbutz in southern Israel, the news site reported.
One of the rockets that landed Saturday was not a so-called Qassam, but might have been a more advanced type of projectile which had been smuggled into Gaza, Israeli police officials told the Israeli daily Haaretz. The rocket, police told the newspaper, may have been a new, more precise standard-issue rocket.

Congress shows Israel support

Congress shows Israel support
More than a dozen senators and over 60 members of the House of Representatives have issued statements since the flotilla interception last Monday, with almost all of them overwhelmingly supportive of Israel.
In the Senate, former presidential candidate John Kerry (DMA) said that “Israel has every right in the world to make certain that weapons are not being smuggled in after the thousands of rockets that have been fired on it from Gaza... It is not just Israel conducting this blockade; it is Israel and Egypt. So you begin that Israel has this right to protect itself.”
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) noted that “Israel has an obligation to protect its citizens and therefore has a clear right under international law to prevent weapons from getting in the hands of terrorists determined to target them.
Hamas and its allies are the responsible parties for the recent violence and the continued difficulties for the people of Gaza.

The seized Rachel Corrie ship is escorted by Israeli navy vessels in the Ashdod military port

TEHRAN, June 7 (UPI) -- Iran is prepared to deploy the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp naval forces to escort aid ships pressing an Israeli blockade on Gaza, authorities said.

Israel enacted a blockade on Gaza in 2007 to keep weapons out of the hands of the ruling Hamas, which has vowed to destroy Israel.

A flotilla May 31 refused Israeli orders to divert to the port of Ashdod for inspections. Israeli forces then raided a Turkish-flagged vessel in the convoy in international waters, killing nine in what the Israeli military said was an act of self-defense.

"The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps navy is ready to escort the peace and freedom convoys that carry humanitarian assistance for the defenseless and oppressed people of Gaza with all its strength," he said.

He said the IRGC was ready to receive his orders, noting the enemies of Iran "should be met head-on through a spontaneous international movement, and we should foil their evil plots."

Helsinki Principles: Israel Was in the Right

Click the link to read more.

A perusal of  The Helsinki Principles on the Law of Maritime Neutrality, a basis for international law on the subject, shows that Israel was well within its prescriptions in forcibly stopping the Gaza-bound flotilla.

Flotilla

The relevant clauses in the Helsinki Principles read as follows:

5.1.1 Neutral ships in belligerent ports

A neutral ship in a belligerent port enjoys the same protection against attacks as civilian objects in land warfare… Neutral warships in belligerent ports retain their right of self-defense.

5.1.2 Protection against attacks

(3) Merchant ships flying the flag of a neutral State may be attacked if they are believed on reasonable grounds to be carrying contraband or breaching a blockade, and after prior warning they intentionally and clearly refuse to stop, or intentionally and clearly resist visit, search, capture or diversion.

IDF: Hamas stops flotilla aid delivered by Israel

clipped from www.cnn.com

Jerusalem (CNN) -- Israel has attempted to deliver humanitarian aid from an international flotilla to Gaza, but Hamas -- which controls the territory -- has refused to accept the cargo, the Israel Defense Forces said Wednesday.

Palestinian sources confirmed that trucks that arrived from Israel at the Rafah terminal at the Israel-Gaza border were barred from delivering the aid.

Israel said it had 20 trucks of aid found on the ships, such as expired medications, clothing, blankets, some medical equipment and toys.

Israel has released all foreign flotilla detainees by Wednesday, but four Israeli Arabs remain in custody.

Under Israeli policy, humanitarian aid must come through Israel and be checked by Israeli authorities who are looking to intercept smuggled weapons bound for militants aiming to attack Israel.

As part of this policy Israel forbids ships from dropping off goods at Gaza ports and works to thwart smuggling via tunnels between Gaza and Egypt.

Around 10,000 Turks marched in protest from the Israeli consulate in Istanbul to a main square, chanting, "Murderous Israel you will drown in the blood you shed!" following the deadly IDF raid on
the Gaza aid flotilla Sunday night. The protesters earlier tried to storm the Consulate building but were blocked by police.

The Gaza aid flotilla of six ships, carrying some 700 activists, was sponsored in part by a Turkish organization.

Turkish police were put on high alert as thousands people marched on Istanbul's central Taksim square from the Israeli consulate where they had converged after news of the raid broke.

Hamas-Global Jihadist Power Struggle Intensifying

BAIT LAHIA, GAZA STRIP - JULY 15:Palestinian s...Image by Getty Images via Daylife

(IsraelNN.com) Messages are flying between Hamas commanders deployed throughout the Middle East, expressing concern that local leaders are losing control over Gaza. Ahmed Ja'bri, head of the terror group's Izz a-din al-Kassam armed division, recently sent an urgent missive to Hamas politburo leader Khaled Mashaal in Damascus, complaining about the organization's “deteriorating” authority in Gaza.

Global jihadists have been posing a growing challenge to Hamas's authority in the area, he informed his superiors

“We began to lose control of the internal situation after you asked us to transfer control to the government and not to interfere, in order to allow it to direct the affairs of Gaza,” he complained.

Hamas-Global Jihadist Power Struggle Intensifying
According to IDF military intelligence sources, global jihad (al-Qaeda) operatives were active in Gaza for several years; an IDF soldier was killed in an attack perpetrated in January 2009 by global jihadists near southern Gaza.

Israel is accused of waging covert war across the Middle East

Israel is waging a covert assassination campaign across the Middle East in an effort to stop its key enemies co-ordinating their activities.

Israeli agents have been targeting meetings between members of Hamas and the leadership of the militant Hezbollah group, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

People look at the wreckage of a bus after a blast ripped through it in Sayyedeh Zeinab, near Damascus
They are also suspected of recent killings in Dubai, Damascus and Beirut. While Israel’s Mossad spy agency has been suspected of staging assassinations across the world since the 1970s, it does not officially acknowledge or admit its activities.

“But Israel is overstepping their boundaries. Other countries don’t want to become a killing field for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”

Tensions between Israel and Hamas have remained high, despite the relative quiet that has ensued since the end of Israel’s offensive in Gaza last winter. Israeli troops were placed on alert yesterday after intelligence suggested that Hamas planned to abduct soldiers

Israel pays U.N. for damage in Gaza offensive

clipped from www.cnn.com
U.N lead investigator Richard Goldstone inspects damage inflicted on homes in Gaza during the offensive of 2008/2009.

(CNN) -- Israel has paid the United Nations $10.5 million for damage to its facilities during last year's offensive against militants in Gaza, the U.N. said Friday.

During the three weeks of fierce fighting, Israeli shells set ablaze the U.N.'s main aid distribution warehouse in Gaza City and also attacked three U.N. schools for Palestinian refugee children, the U.N. said.

"With this payment, the United Nations has agreed that the financial issues relating to those incidents referred to in the terms of reference of the Board of Inquiry are concluded," Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's spokesman Martin Nesirky said Friday.
