Iranian leaders, including President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, reiterate their calls for a union of Asian countries.
Ahmadinejad, speaking earlier this week in Tehran at the ninth ministerial meeting of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), called for convergence of all Asian countries. He said at the opening ceremony that Asia is in need of convergence in order to “implement its determining responsibility in the world,” which he said is “urgently in need of a change in terms of order and conduct.”

In addition, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said this week that his government hopes all Asian countries support the idea of the formation of the Asian Union.

Former Iranian Revolutionary Guard: Iran Will Bomb Israel - A7 Exclusive Features - Israel News - Israel National News

Speaking from an undisclosed location, with his voice digitally altered to protect his true identity, former Iranian Revolutionary Guard Reza Kahlili told Israel National Radio's Yishai Fleisher that Iran would not hesitate to use nuclear bombs against Israel.

"[Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's government] will use the nuclear bomb against Israel, they will use it against Persian Gulf countries, and they will use it against Europe to bring about that last hadith (Islamic commentaries on sayings and activities of Mohammed and his companions) that calls for total chaos, lawlessness, and havoc in the world, which creates the circumstance for Imam Mahdi (the Islamic messianic figure) to appear."
Kahlili bemoaned the oppression of the Iranian people by their government, and told Fleisher about the circumstances which made him leave the Revolutionary Guards and become a spy against them for the American CIA.  His new book, "A Time to Betray: The Astonishing Double Life of a CIA Agent inside the Revolutionary Guards of Iran", details his experiences fighting against a regime he says is tyrannizing his people.

Iran warns neighbors over U.S. presence in the Gulf

clipped from news.yahoo.com TEHRAN (Reuters) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned Gulf countries on Thursday against the U.S. presence in the region, saying Washington aimed to dominate their energy resources in the name of fighting terrorism. Iran opposes the U.S. military presence on its borders in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Gulf, saying western military intervention is the root of insecurity in the region. "We warn the countries in the region over the presence of bullying powers ... they have not come here to restore security or to counter drug trafficking," Ahmadinejad said in a speech during a visit to the southern province of Hormuzgan. The hardline president accused the West of planning to dominate energy resources in the Gulf and said: "People in the region will cut off their hands from the Persian Gulf's oil." "Why is it that those who say they want to fight terrorism are never successful? I think it is because they are the ones who are playing a double game," he said.

Ahmadinejad has proof US trying to stop Hidden Imam

"[Ronald] Regan and his foreign minister were two of the stupidest people in the world," he said, addressing an audience of the families of martyrs and altruists in Isfahan on Friday. Referring to his June reelection, Ahmadinejad said, "The enemy... was hyping the issue as if the Iranian nation has been weakened and as if this was the best opportunity to get concessions from them. But your humble son [Ahmadinejad] stood in front of the oppressive powers and shouted: You are dead wrong! The Iranian nation will put you in your place." "In the recent [post-election] incident, they claimed that they had devised a plan that could bring hundreds of governments to their knees," he continued. "But he who is on the righteous path will always be victorious and will never see defeat."

Iran Ramps Up Nuclear Program, Threatens Israel!

Iranian media cited Khamenei as telling the head of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement on Sunday that Israel's destruction is imminent according to the will of Allah, and that the support of America and certain European nations could do nothing to thwart the Jewish state's downfall. Also Sunday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ordered Iran's Atomic Energy Organization to begin enriching the nation's uranium stockpile to a level of 20 percent and to build an additional 10 uranium enrichment facilities. The looming threat is escalating the likelihood that Israel will be forced to intervene militarily to at least set back Iran's nuclear program, lest it face a very real existential threat.

Iranian President Orders Enrichment

clipped from online.wsj.com Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ordered his country's nuclear agency to begin enriching uranium for use in a medical-research reactor, ratcheting up Tehran's defiance over Western demands that it curb its nuclear ambitions. The statement was carried Sunday on state TV as the country celebrates the 31st anniversary of the Iranian revolution. It came amid a flurry of announcements in which Mr. Ahmadinejad has attempted to project an image of strength, even as the regime faces the threat of further domestic unrest later this week. It also seemed to contradict Mr. Ahmadinejad's statements last week that Iran was willing to embrace a deal brokered last year by the International Atomic Energy Agency for Iran to ship the bulk of its lower enriched uranium overseas to be further enriched to the 20% purity level needed for its medical reactor.
