New Israeli Natural Gas Find May Have Prophetic Implications

In a news article today it is being reported that a new found natural gas field found offshore of Israel is the largest natural gas find in the history of Israel. This new natural gas field has the potential to make Israel an exporter of natural gas. This recent discovery could play a role in the future prophetic scenario of Ezekiel 38-39. The Jerusalem Post is reporting:

The natural gas reserves in the Leviathan structure total 16 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, based on preliminary results of the production tests received in the past few days. This was same amount estimated from a recent 3D seismic survey. The quantity found is double the gas reserves at Tamar. The results were reported Wednesday by Noble Energy Inc., which owns 39.66% of the prospect.
According to Noble Energy, "The well encountered a minimum of 220 feet (67 meters) of net natural gas pay in several subsalt Miocene intervals. Apparent reservoir quality is very good, and the intervals discovered are geologically similar to those intersected at Tamar." Noble Energy CEO Charles Davidson said, "Leviathan is the latest major discovery for Noble Energy and is easily the largest exploration discovery in our history."
As we can see in these verses and from the rest of Ezekiel 38-39, the Russian led invasion will center around a wealthy and prosperous Israeli state. Since the re-birth of the state of Israel in 1948, Israel has slowly but surely improved itself economically despite it's small size. The country has survived numerous Islamic attempts to wipe it off the map, yet still remains just as God has foretold. The interesting thing is that for the first time Israel has the opportunity with the discovery of oil and natural gas offshore to break the ceiling and become a mighty financial state. This coupled with the break down of peace talks with the Palestinians and international community may finally convince the Russians and surrounding Islamic countries to finally make a move on Israel militarily as Ezekiel foretold thousands of years ago.

Yet Another Oil Well busted in the Gulf

Seems more and more problems are coming out of the wells. What gets me in this is Nobody knows who owns the well?

Also how is it that a little tugboat can't see a big oil rig.
Hmm? More questions to be answered.

A tugboat or other workboat collided with the well near Bayou St. Dennis, La., shearing off its valve structure and releasing pressurized natural gas and light oil, DHS official Deano Bonano told Fox News. Federal officials do not know who owns the well, but a contractor who handles wild wells is also on the way, Bonano said. Oil is spewing about 20 feet in the air from the severed 4-inch pipe, a contractor who flew over the leak told Fox News. The area has been evacuated and civilian boats are being told not to enter the scene, where "a fair bit of oil" is leaking out, the contractor said.

  As much as 1 million times the normal level of methane gas has been found in some regions near the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, enough to potentially deplete oxygen and create a dead zone, U.S. scientists said on Tuesday.
  Texas A&M University oceanography professor John Kessler, just back from a 10-day research expedition near the BP Plc oil spill in the gulf, says methane gas levels in some areas are "astonishingly high."

  "There is an incredible amount of methane in there," Kessler told reporters in a telephone briefing.
  In some areas, the crew of 12 scientists found concentrations that were 100,000 times higher than normal.
  "We saw them approach a million times above background concentrations" in some areas, Kessler said.
  The scientists were looking for signs that the methane gas had depleted levels of oxygen dissolved in the water needed to sustain marine life.

  "What is it going to look like two months down the road, six months down the road, two years down the road?" he asked.
  Methane, a natural gas, dissolves in seawater and some scientists think measuring methane could give a more accurate picture of the extent of the oil spill.
  Kessler said his team has taken those measurements, and is hoping to have an estimate soon.
  "Give us about a week and we should have some preliminary numbers on that," he said.

Obama Says Energy Policy Must Some Old, Some New

clipped from abcnews.go.com President Barack Obama says the country must develop cleaner energy technologies while at the same time still relying upon traditional power sources like nuclear and coal. Obama said America will continue to "need some of the old traditional energy sources as we're developing these new ones, ramping them up." He said ways must be found to increase oil and natural gas production and that America has "to take a both-end approach, rather than an either-or approach" to energy policy.
