Guatemala – Large circular Crater opened after Agatha hit

clipped from txlady706.wordpress.com (CNN) — At least 115 people have died after a tropical storm battered Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador over the weekend, officials in those countries reported. Guatemala was hit hardest, with at least 92 deaths, 54 people missing and 59 injured, emergency officials said. Nearly 112,000 people have been evacuated and more than 29,000 are living in temporary shelters, Guatemalan President Alvaro Colom said in an address to the nation late Sunday. The devastation has been widespread throughout Guatemala with mudslides destroying homes and buildings and burying some victims. At least nine rivers have dramatically higher levels and 13 bridges have collapsed, the nation’s emergency services said. Nearly 3,500 people have been evacuated from their homes and nearly 3,300 are living in shelters, the Honduran emergency agency said Monday. More than 140 homes have been destroyed and another 700 have been damaged, the Permanent Commission for Emergencies reported.

Haiti judge to free some detained US missionaries

clipped from news.yahoo.com PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti – A Haitian judge says some of the 10 U.S. missionaries arrested on charges of child kidnapping will be released. Judge Bernard Saint-Vil has not said which will be freed Wednesday. He says the Americans will be allowed to return to the United States without posting bail but would have to return if called back. Saint-Vil says the investigation is continuing. The Idaho-based group is accused of trying to take 33 Haitian children out of the quake-stricken country. They say they were on a humanitarian mission and have denied accusations of trafficking. THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below. U.S. Marshals say they are hunting for Jorge Puello, who was already being pursued by authorities in the Dominican Republic on an Interpol warrant out of El Salvador, where police say he led a ring that lured young women and girls into prostitution. He also had an outstanding warrant for a U.S. parole violation.

There Shall Be Earthquakes In Diverse Places | Diigo

The 7.0 magnitude earthquake that has essentially destroyed the nation of Haiti has refocused attention on the prophecies about earthquakes in the last days that we find in the Scriptures.  Yahshua (Jesus) told us that we would see an increase in earthquakes as we approached His coming and that this would be a clear sign that the end times was at hand.  Could the unusual shaking that we are currently seeing around the world be an indication that we are approaching the time prophesied almost 2000 years ago?

You see, unfortunately the Haiti earthquake is not an isolated incident.  2010 is already a banner year for major earthquakes.

For example, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake shook the ocean floor between South America and Antarctica on Sunday.

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit Guatemala's Pacific coast near the border with El Salvador on Monday, but fortunately it did not do much damage.

There have already been five magnitude 6.0 or greater earthquakes in the area of the Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean so far in 2010.

The annual average of worldwide earthquakes measuring 6.0 or greater is 152.  If the current pace continues, we will see 260 in 2010.
