Earthquake swarms continue in Southern California

clipped from www.latimes.com A swarm of small earthquakes continued to occur overnight in the Big Bear Lake area. More than a dozen quakes were recorded in the last 12 hours in the San Bernardino Mountains region, most of them small. No damage or injuries were reported. Another swarm of small quakes hit the Santa Monica Bay on Monday, including a 3.6 and 3.7 temblor. Those quakes were felt by thousands of people, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The Big Bear quake swarm produced smaller quakes. The first quake hit about 1:30 p.m. Monday a few miles north of Big Bear City. That registered magnitude 3.2. The second quake hit about 10 minutes later, and registered 3.1. Hundreds of people reported feeling those quakes.
