Capitol Alert: Assembly OKS concealed guns for four legislators

Assembly Chief Sergeant-at-Arms Ronald Pane has given four legislators permission to carry concealed weapons in the state Capitol, according to two senior Senate staff members who have been informed of the decision.
State law prohibits carrying loaded firearms and deadly weapons in public buildings, except under limited conditions. A 2010 bill by Assemblywoman Cathleen Galgiani, D-Livingston, tightened the law, requiring that most holders of concealed weapons permits or other gun licenses get permission from the sergeants-at-arms of the state Assembly or the state Senate in order to bring their gun in the Capitol or legislative office buildings. Peace officers are exempt from the restrictions.
No such approval has been given in the Senate, where the Rules Committee has established a no-guns policy. Senate Chief Sergeant-at-Arms Tony Beard said while he respects the Assembly's judgment to establish its own security practices to best protect its members, it would take an "extraordinary situation" for him to give a member the OK to carry a concealed weapon in the building. He said his focus has been on how existing safety protocol and systems can be used to respond to threats and protect all members, staff and visitors.

Pistol packin pastor holds church burglars at gunpoint

Image by alancleaver_2000 via FlickrLike it or not, we live in a world where even the kids don't seem to care about how hard we work, let alone have any kind of respect for property, churches and things in our homes. Now even though it's a select few. The Right to bear arms is for reasons like this. Not just for protection at times but, you never know what is going to happen in a short amount of time.
It's nice to see a Pastor that carries a gun for protection. Just like the founders of the great country. More people should be like this man. Helping to stop the crime and not putting all their hope in police that would have never shown up in time.

Two Beaumont, Texas teenagers are in police custody after a pastor found them burglarizing his church and held them at gunpoint until authorities arrived on scene.
Pastor James McAbee, who runs the Lighthouse Worship Center, says he had just finished up his service Sunday when he spotted two teenagers breaking into his church's youth .
Instead of waiting for police to arrive on scene, McAbee, who has a concealed handgun license, decided to take matters into his own hands.
"I went in with my own pistol and held them at gunpoint," he said.
McAbee says the two burglars, who are brothers, tried negotiating with him, but the negotiations soon turned into violent threats.
"I had them down on their knees with their hands in the air," he said. "One of them reached in their pocket and told me that he had a gun. I said 'sir, if you pull the gun, I'm going to have to shoot you.'"
Luckily the teen was unarmed and police were able to make the arrests without any problems
As for the youth center, it's being renovated, which is why McAbee believes that the two teens were trying to steal the church's power tools.

And yes there are ways to bypass the constitution. they can go right around the 2nd amendment through loop holes. Now you understand why government officials keep saying lets have a national gun registration
