Doomsday prophet, followers ‘flabbergasted’ world didn’t end. Why?

Four Horsemen of Apocalypse, by Viktor Vasnets...Image via WikipediaIt is good to hear some of the people coming back out. I hope to get more news on them here soon. I'm going to take some time here to try to help those who believed the End of the World was coming and try to help easy there minds why it didn't happen.

First off Camping made one the biggest mistakes by simply stating a day this would happen even more so a time. If Jesus Christ himself said this cannot be done we must be faithful enough to believe him over any man that claims so much.

The second major mistake was quoting one sentence at a time. Many, many churches do this today. Mostly to make sure they get their point across. Yet, still so very dangerous to do as we can see so many lives have been affected by it already.

We need to remember read all of Matthew 24 not a couple of sentences. I will post more towards the bottom of this article.

It's hard to feel bad for someone whose doomsday predictions caused so much anxiety, but 89-year-old Harold Camping's recent admission that he's "flabbergasted" the world didn't end last weekend sounds somewhat pitiful.

"It has been a really tough weekend," Camping said Sunday, after emerging from his Alameda, California home for the first time to talk to a reporter from the San Francisco Chronicle. "I'm looking for answers ... But now I have nothing else to say," he said, adding that he would make a full statement today.

Camping's PR aide, Tom Evans, told the L.A. Times that the group is "disappointed" that 200 million true believers weren't lifted up to heaven on Saturday while everyone else suffered and eventually died as a series of earthquakes and famine destroyed the Earth. "You can imagine we're pretty disappointed, but the word of God is still true," Evans said. "We obviously went too far, and that's something we need to learn from." The group posted 2,000 billboards around the country warning of the rapture, while Camping--an uncertified fundamentalist minister--spread the word on his radio show.

Camping's Family Radio, which airs on 66 U.S. stations, has apparently rebranded itself quickly. Business Insider notes that the station's website has scrubbed all mentions of the Judgment Day. The site previously featured a countdown clock to the May 21 rapture on its homepage.

But the false prediction might not be so easily effaced from the lives of Camping's followers. The L.A. Times writes that Keith Bauer, a 38-year-old tractor trailer driver, took a road trip with his family to see the Grand Canyon before the world ended.
"With maxed-out credit cards and a growing mountain of bills, he said, the rapture would have been a relief," the paper writes.
But Bauer is not angry at Camping for his false prediction. "Worst-case scenario for me, I got to see the country," he told the paper. "If I should be angry at anybody, it should be me."

As the Media focused more on the End of the World hardly anyone focused on those who read the Bible itself. Even Hal Lindsey tried to tell people this was not going to happen.

We Cannot Know “The Day or Hour”
Hal Lindsey

I want all of my friends to know that I AM AGAINST any form of predicting a specific day that the end of this age and the Rapture will occur.

I am well aware that a Christian teacher has predicted that the end of this age will occur on May 21st 2011. When this fails, it will be used by our enemies to discredit the expectation that the Rapture could take place at any-moment.

The Lord Jesus clearly commanded that we are to recognize the general time of the seven-year tribulation that will end with Christ’s personal return to the earth to end Armageddon and set up His 1000 year Kingdom on Earth.

After Jesus made many prophecies about His coming and the end of the age, He said, “Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but M y words will not pass away. But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.” (Matt. 24:32-36 NAS)

We Still have a long way to go before the End of The World Happens.

I love Prophecy and have studied it for most of my life. Not sure why but I find it very fascinating I have heard allot of them ranging from Nostradamus, The Mayans, Ancient Egypt, Islamic, and of course The Bible among many others. It wasn't until I was 30 years old before I accepted Christ into my life. And truthfully, It was watching Bible Prophecy come true that made my mind up. That along with some very good Christian Metal bands.
That aside. I want to show everyone how this mistake was so easily believed, and to help those understand the Bible still stands very true.
Take the time and read all of Matthew 24. If you notice. Jesus said everything in line with each event that occurs right after another. Notice, The Son of Man does not come until After the Abomination Of Desolation? Even so, Notice the False Christs and False Prophets?  As of right now my friends we are still in the Beginning of Sorrows stages. But I must agree we are not far off.

You can also read more from Mark 13, and Luke 21
Notice Luke 21? Where is the Abomination of Desolation?
Luke seems like he already knew what Daniel had said and talked about when it came to this.

Luke 21
20 “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. 22 For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

This is coming and very fast. I know what I've said will probably step all over most theologians out there.  But, If anyone would stop jumping around the Bible so much and actually read it AS IS. They may begin to see the full Story of what God intended. To be read straight through. Not picked apart all the time. Rightly dividing the Word does not mean constantly dividing the Word.

I'm doing my best not to make this very long. But I want to point out how so many were mislead so easily. Camping decided he was going to take again one sentence from
1 Thessalonians 5

I Thessalonians 5:2-4 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.

As well as jumping around other Scriptures to make it say what he wanted it to say.

He put his primary focus on scriptures like this. And would add to it and say. See It CLEARLY says that we will know. Anyone that says See It CLEARLY says this or that should raise up several red flags. I have noticed several churches throughout the entire U.S.A. are and have been teaching people this same way. It's very dangerous. As we can see here.

Again for those that were lost in this mans teachings. Please don't loose Faith over this. But read the whole chapters he mentioned. This alone will tell you why he was wrong. Nowhere in the Bible does it says we will know the exact time. If this were the case. Jesus would not have said that Only the Father knows. After all if we did know the exact time of the Rapture everyone would party up until that day.

Even if Our Father had chose that day? I'm sure he changed it on purpose because His Son Said No man knows the day. It would have made his Son a liar. That would not be good given the awesome record God has for not lying.

One more thing. For anyone running around saying it the End of The World, I just want to point this out.
We Still Have 1000 years of real Peace to go through.

Satan Bound 1000 Years
1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.
The Saints Reign with Christ 1000 Years
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a[a] thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

Finally, There will not be Peace until Satan and all Evil is wiped off of this planet. I just hope that this clears up some of the mistakes made. Feel free to ask question if you wish to know more.
